As a teen I remember a child in the grocery store acting up. The mother was so bothered by a lady frowning at her. My mother told the young mother, "Everything is ok. Most of us have been at your stage of life and we know what you're going through right now. Those that haven't been there will never understand. So just relax, hold your head high and march on." The lady actually gave my mother a hug. As a teen it didn't mean a thing to me, but when I got to the stage in life, that the mother was in that day, I remembered my mothers' words. I went through that store with my head high and my heart beating like a drum. Rebekka is at her 3-year-old stage of life and an absolutely adorable little thing and as normal as can be. I love her and your whole family......and no buts.........

I have been watching your videos for quite awhile now. I am an “older woman”, 66, and would be proud to call any one of your children my grandchild. All of them , without exception are thoughtful, kind and helpful. I always leave your videos feeling happy that we have some children in this world like yours. They restore my faith in the future. Here's my take on it: When I watch your videos (along with other family vloggers at times), I am SO VERY IMPRESSED with the patience you have with your precious baby. The fact that you ALLOW her to interrupt with kindness shows the very essence of good parenting. I hope they don't wish for you to just usher her out of the frame so you can continue to film without interruption. Seeing her joy in those interruptions which are just being a kid to her such as: "I'm eating a pancake, a berry, a biscuit, etc." are the MOST SPECIAL part of it to me and a whole lot of other people. Have we become so impatient, that we can't give a child 2 seconds to be mothered and included. I mean her smile alone makes my day. The way your family helps with her and works together to allow us into your lives is just a blessing in itself. I cannot respond to the pinned comment because as you have said, if you can't say anything kind, stay silent so I will on that. Your reply was enough for me. Ok I am the eldest of 11 children and one of the things that I enjoy most about your family is the memories of the love and joy that we shared. I raised an ADHD son in the 1980’s. I can not tell you how many people blamed me for being a bad parent while we did tutors, therapies, home training etc all while getting no sleep as he did not sleep. Eventually we found a medicine that helped him sleep and focus in school but his childhood was a long haul with little understanding or help from other parents. I can tell you that a “brat”is a child who knows better but is spoiled by using bad behavior to get what they want. That would never happen in my house or in yours. I raised a very hyper ADH autistic child. You cannot believe the horrible comments people made to me in public because of his behavior. I tried my best to discipline him. It’s not like I let him run wild. Sometimes I think I over discipline him to make people happy. I wish I could go back in time and handle it differently. Those mean comments from strangers hurt. It was real life so I couldn’t just delete them like on social media. What I did say to those strangers when they told me my kid was a brat, needed a spanking, or asked me if I ever wanted to kill him (yes someone actually said that), was ,”That’s why God gave him to me instead of you.”

Janice as a Momma of 4 adult children and 8 grandchildren 9yrs old to 15 months old and I think you on doing a WONDERFUL job!!!! She is 3 years old the commenter needs to remember that. I had an assistant teacher who would "jokingly" tell the infants that they were spoiled.😯 I told her (nicely) that I didn't want to hear that. I don’t have any kids and can sometimes be intolerant of kids compared to others but I have always thought your kids seemed so well behaved, mindful, and thoughtful. I can’t believe folks would say Rebekah is not well behaved especially for her age. She just goes with the flow and seems to require so little. I think she’s wonderful for her age. Your channel shows a happy healthy family and educational your savings video are always great. At age 73 I remember a time when with any family in public eye the rule was children are off limits. To this day even with you tube channels and all the social media accounts that this rule should apply. You are much kinder than I could have been. From the youngest of 9, life can be hard on a parent trying to raise your children well. You are doing great. I became a single mom not by choice at a hard time for my kids and myself. My kids were in elementary school and I went to college. I enjoyed the use of my skills of using the snap card with the double coupon days gone by. One time we went to the Kroger's with an overflowing cart of groceries and the kids were acting up. I told them to stop several times. We were at the end of going through the isles and I lost it. We left the cart and went home. The kids had grilled cheese for dinner and went to bed. The next day was school for all of us. When we got to Kroger's they behaved much better and were willing to help out. It takes time to raise good kids. I still get compliments from people saying I raised them well. They are now in their 20's. You got this t. I grew up with canning foods and no ac in the house.

I would ask the kids I worked with, "Is what you're about to say helpful or hurtful?" If it's going to hurt them then don't say it. Even kiddos understand.

I am a mother of 4 ADHD boys and have experienced the ugliness of others opinions. My children are grown or nearly grown and are happy and healthy. ALL of my children have learned to be very productive members of society because I took the time to patiently teach them. Nobody has the right to lay their opinion on you and the way you choose to raise your very sweet well behaved 3 yr old. The goal is to raise them to be happy healthy members os society. I believe kids should be seen and heard that’s how they experience the world and guides a parent on areas that need improvement, Sham on the person who felt comfortable enough to have an opinion on a family the see only in recordings and not close personal friendships with.

I could not comment earlier about anything other than the grocery haul. But I wanted to slip back in to say that we understand how you were feeling Janice. The things that people would say to our grandson and his wife about our great-grandson Ollie were sometimes very very thoughtless and ill informed. Our Ollie is non-verbal autistic. When he was three, any place where there were lots of people and lots of sounds could be painful and overwhelming until he could put his sound reduction headphones on. People who didn’t understand would say horrible things, to his mother in particular. Even though we realized that some did not understand, it was hurtful. Our Ollie has grown into a smart and successful student, and most importantly, a loving big brother to a little sister who adores him! These two communicate with each other just as well as siblings who both speak. And, it turns out that our Ollie’s intellect is actually quite a bit above average. We are proudest of his heart. He is a kind and loving little boy, who continues to overcome any obstacle. Janice, I hope you are feeling better. People sometimes don’t think, as you have pointed out. We really hope you are feeling better. Our elder cat TJ says to tell you about how he loves to sit with me while I watch your channel! Love across the miles from the “toasty” Sacramento Valley!

Some people as you know are petty and miserable and that is just the world we live in. She or He might be just trying to spoil your day by trying to tell you how to parent your children.

Kids are some times sent to us to push our limits! I remember my daughter bout 6 months old crying and crying. I remember I wasn’t able to take it any more and had to leave room and come back. I have always wanted a large family like yours. I was blessed with two boys and a few years ago lost my youngest adult son when he died in his sleep at 40 years old. You and your whole family are amazing. Your children have love shining out of them just like you do. I love how they all work together with you and your husband to keep your homestead running. Whenever there is a video alert from your channel I know I want to slow down and watch and really pay attention.
