Hey Stephanie! Welcome to Junk Journaling! You have a great collection to work with. Tea dying is easy. I dry mine in the oven at about 200-225 for about 10 - 15 min, depending on how saturated they are. When you lift them out of the tea, let them drip for a little bit. that helps. I dyed mine with Easter Egg kit. Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, I'll have Part 1 & Part 2 on how to make pockets with your book pages. Looking forward to seeing your journal. Creative Blessings! P.S. As an author I used to worry about tearing up a book, too. But then I learned how many wind up in the trash at thrift stores because they just can't stock them all. I figure I'm giving them a new life.

You’re brave! Lots of first time experiences for you. My tea-dyed paper begins with cheap card stock in a Manila color. (Joann or Michael’s) I make tea, let it cool, then I paint the card stock with tea and a sponge brush. I’m not fully keen on crinkly baked copy paper. But, to each their own. Good luck.
