Love. Love. Love. Thanks for the memories- long before I junk journaled or did any other type of paper crafting for that matter, when I was a little girl (and I mean a LOOOONG time ago) I was the lucky recipient of the very first Origami book ever published in the US as my aunt worked for the publisher. This fold is basis for may of the other Origami creations and I am ecstatic to breathe new life into this piece of nostalgia by incorporating this into my junk journaling. Truly ephemera, it also reminds me of those little finger “fortune teller”games we used to make when we were kids where each flap had a number or word that informed your next move.

Hi Pam. I am new to journaling and I have been watching all your videos. I am inspired to start one. As I have been collecting supplies, I am in a fix to decide on distress oxide or distress oxide since I am on a tight budget. I have been through all videos on the difference between them . However in your opinion which of these will have multiple uses such as inking the edges of pockets/ paper scraps as well as provide textural background for art journal.
@ThePaperOutpost4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mat! I use both and both will work great but if I was just starting out I would buy the oxides. They seem to last much longer for me. I have not had to refill an oxide yet. The only down side of the oxide I see is that take a little longer to dry since they have pigment and dye in them. You can also stamp with the oxide and then spritz with water and get some interesting effects. Here is Tim Holtz demonstrating this technique :) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j5hpgNF4nNvFZZ8.html Hope this helps :)

Hooray, great video! I've seen this thing in your journals earlier, but I had no idea how to make them. Thanks for doing this tutorial! Reminds me of a thing we used to do a lot in school in the end of the 60's; 'loppa' (actually means 'flea'!) which apparently is 'paper fortune teller' in English. I used to love those!
