Today i'm showing you how to make a junk journal writing boards using your laminator.
I love this method as it's quick, easy and much less messy than getting out the modpodge.

Laminatorsheet, baking paper under and on top, wool setting, no steam. Works like a dream!

Another way (which I have just tried, successfully) is cotton tea towel under and on top of lam. sheet and highest setting on iron (no steam). Going to try the baking paper next! Happy days!

Love the tag shape for these!! Just a tip to share on the laminating.... if you have edges that didn't adhere closely the first pass, there may be trapped air. Taking a sharp pin to poke some tiny holes will release some of that trapped air on the 2nd pass through. This works for random air bubbles, too. It's a tip someone else on Instagram shared and I have personally tried it with success.

I love the idea of the second one. The tag shaped one is so neat. I need to get some matt laminating sheets. I've got oodles of the glossy ones, which I don't like. I am loving all these ideas for the laminator, mine has been sat in a cupboard for months. I have made some pockets for my stamps (more to do) and now I need to laminate my writing boards - why didn't I think of that!! Love these Julie. Fun fact I was born in Skeggy, never lived there Mum was from Wainfleet (about 5 miles away) then when I was 6 weeks old we emigrated to Australia under the £10 pommy scheme, came back when I was nearly 4, biological dad couldn’t keep it in his trousers and mum was having none of it. Love the waffling and will definitely do these, thank you

Hi Selina, i don't blame your mum one bit😘 Small world isn't it. We had very glamorous holidays when mine were young. We often stayed in Hull and went up and down the coast each day. It was worth it for the look on peoples faces when they asked where you'd been and you said Hull😅☺️🤗💜

Gonna get me some sheets. I like the idea of writing boards. Also recently watched a video where the artist was making sun catchers, which I started thinking why not make an ornament and include in Christmas cards. The ideas are endless. I’ve done it without a laminator and works quite well.

Julie, never knew what a writing board was ... received several journals from my daughter's friend when I was ill. I absolutely love them, so being adventurous I am trying. The book pages you used at the start of this video are beautiful, I need to find some books like that. There are never any in thrift stores around here, I've checked on Amazon but when it only shows the cover I'm afraid to buy it. I don't remember if you have any linked on your Amazon for the US. I love that your daughter made you a bracelet with birth giver on it. 😂 My daughter calls me MOTHER (kinda loud and demanding) at times and most people find it odd and formal but it's very affectionate for her. I'm either mama or mother, never mom to her and she's 30. I love when our kids/grandkids give us special names. I appreciate your videos and all you teach me. Love your waffling and humor.

Hi Marcie, i rarely find good books in charity shops and mine come from Ebay or Amazon. I do put them on Amazon when i can find them. You should be able to see my UK storefront too, just to get the titles. What i often do is just search youtibe for Botanical book flip through or flower book flip through, just so i can see the books and get ideas for new books to get. My youngest is the one who calles me birth give or mamma, i agree it is lovely even if others don't always get it☺️🤗💜

I don't have eBay anymore but I have a friend who does so she could get it for me. I haven't used it in so long I'm not even sure how it works anymore. Great idea on the flip through. I don’t have a laminating machine, but I do have some of the laminating sheets. Those are really difficult to deal with. I lose lots of my crafty stuff with those beasts! However, yours turned out beautiful! Hugs 🤗❤️🎄

I've never used the self laminating ones myself. One other way i have made them before is to spray them with acrylic sealer. Did i mention i hate modpodge😘🤗💜

I have a laminator but it only does shiny bc its a xerox machine. I like the matte much better for this project. Going over to amazon to order the machine and pouches. Your so funny to listen to. Your famous line is I did it bc I could, ha, ha. Love it.

What a great project. I've seen a couple of videos on laminating lately, i want to make my own planner cover. Love how these turned out. I could see making bookmarks like this too. Gorgeous papers you used in your projects. Yes, definitely here for the waffling but your projects are awesome too and I'm so inspired by your ideas. Happy New Year.🤗💕

There You are!! I was soooo worried. Ok, movie time now! 😀 Well, that was wonderful! I have had a laminator on my list for quite some time and I do usually make a writing board, especially if the journal is highly decorated... I find it would be hard to write on many of the pages, unless there was a board. These are beautiful, and so easy... I also bought that very same kit of eyelets, and they would not set for me, I'm going back to practice... practice DOES make perfect! You do such a lovely job, no matter what you are building. Great to hear from You love... I did email you, but there is no rush, if you reply. Much Love Hunny.

Hi Sandra, yes i am inded here lovely. I'm just watching a cheesy christmas film while i answer comments. My dad, who was a steelworker would tell you it's the cheap dodgy imports not being consistent. I used to buy the same gold eyelets from poundland for years and they became so brittle i had to stop buying them. ps, i have emailed you back Mrs☺️🤗💜

Julie, they make self sealing laminating sheets at Walmart. Dont know if you have Walmarts where you live though. Love lov, lov. Watching you and laughin with you. Fun fun fun. We would hv a blast together im sure of it. Lin

These are excellent and I love them both! Not sure which one's my favorite, so I guess I'll hafta make them both! More laminating fun 😂 I'm good with that! It's getting a little bit chilly here in the desert and I was considering turning the stove on to warm up, but maybe the heat from my laminator is all I really need. ...so the glue stick really holds, huh? ...on the one without the laminated edges? 😅😹😹yeah the meeting went on a bit😅 I only trust a couple of glue sticks MK, the elmers Extreme and Collal permanet, which i believe is dutch. I rekon the 'Yes' paste would work well, but i can't even spread that over here when t's cold🥶 thanks, as always lovely☺🤗💜

Can't belive it took me so lond to think of these, we used laminated card all the time to make check lists for my youngest and that wasn't even my idea, i got it from her primary 😐☺️🤗💜

Hi Patt, yes it's writable love, we use them for my youngests daily task lists. We use the dry erase markers which work a treat. Glad you enjoyed this love🤗💜

So cute…Just a caution for others…Yesterday, talk about timely, I ruined my laminator by trying to run a cheap laminator folder through all by itself! The first one worked but was a bit wobbly so I ran it through again to help smooth it out and it was okay. But…the laminator ate the next one and ruined the whole thing! Couldn’t get the screws out to take it apart so it’s gone bye bye. I bet I don’t try that again!!😢

Phew your back! Was worried and missed you! Your the highlight of my week and loved your idea although I’m not going to get a laminator as I’m trying to not spend anymore money on craft supplies other than basics such as glue as ‘ times are hard down on farm’ lol! Seriously though thank you and you were missed!

Hi Lynne, i'm still about Mrs. I don't blame you love. spending has had to go way down here too love. I'm lucky to have a monthly business budget for craft supplies, but that doesn't go as far as it used to and don't even go there on food and fuel 🤚😁🤗💜

@@CameliaCraftsDesigns yes food, petrol everything in fact so expensive. I forgot my lunch the other day when going to pottery club day and popped in for a very plain sandwich at the corner store and was $9.60. Told him I wasn’t buying it, I’d make do with an over ripe banana in my bag. And you can’t get sick here as no doctors to see you for 2 weeks and hospital services so run down with lack of funding over the years you wouldn’t dare get anything serious as die before getting treatment. We are in a bad way here. Most expensive country in the world to buy or build a house and they still let immigrants in while there is a housing crisis. I’d like to bang their heads together for the wasting of money on continuous forming of departments to investigate but never the outcome changes… I’m so lucky I own my own little house and it’s paid for ( thanks partly to my parents leaving me a bit of cash) otherwise I’d never survive on the pension. Like you I only buy when it’s on special and I have done all my life. Never pay full price for anything unless it’s an emergency. Think it’s the Yorkshire gene in me lol 😂 Take care Julie. Lynne NZ

Hi Kerry, A4 is 11 3/4 x 8 1/4 and A5 is 8 1/4 x 5 7/8 approx as i am not going down to a 32th of an inch😅 Phew, that tested my maths skills. Hope that helps lovely☺️🤗💜
