AZ Model 1/72 Junkers Ju EF128E high-altitude night fighter build by Echo Range Models
Thanks for tuning in to my first ever KZfaq video! Today I'll be covering a full build of AZ Model's Junkers Ju EF128E night fighter in 1/72 scale, including a little scratch building and some 3D printed goodies!
Please let me know what you think of it, it's a little rough around the edges but I'd definitely like to do more in the future!

Nice build, loved the care for all the details, how did you make the replacement engine? 3D printer? is there any plans? I started building mine, and its not an easy kit, fit is not good, I struggled with the wing to fuselage joint.

I’ve been trying to work that out too. Astrodomes were usually fitted for a navigator to use a sextant or other device. Not the case here. Maybe it’s just a manufacturer’s fictional add-on to give visual interest.

The Luft 46 website entry depicts a DF loop positioned behind the cockpit. To be fair this project only got as far as a wind tunnel model, and very few illustrations match up to each other; similar, but noticeably different. I think this depiction is as good as any, notwithstanding the chipping comments elsewhere. BTW, subbed, looking forward to more.

Nice build was it just done with black under coat and rlm 76?

Thanks Jason! Yep, just thinned RLM76 over black. It was a refreshingly simple paint job.

This aircraft was supposed to have plywood wings, much like the Horton HO229 and the Heinkel HE 162. Why would you do silver chipping on the wing panels?

Unfortunately I'm not an expert in proposed German aircraft so wasn't aware of the plywood wings.

@@EchoRangeModels Some of the access panels would have been metal, but you have fallen into the trap of a lot of modelers that think that all panel lines need to be chipped. This is not the case and looks so unrealistic.

First, and probably my last, visit to your channel, not because you don’t have skill, far from it, you are obviously a very knowledgeable and skilled model maker, however I don’t like build videos that do not have any commentary, commentary about the build itself and/or tips and advice to help newer model makers improve their skill level and produce more accomplished results. Whilst I can turn off the “techno” music? Off it then leaves me watching a pair of hands doing things without any explanation of why, how, or when you are doing something, and obviously that is not much fun, and I feel that if you are going to video your builds then it is incumbent on you to do a commentary, even a computer generated voice would be better than nothing. Sorry but I hope my criticism will help you build a better viewer experience and in turn help you grow your subscriber numbers, and in turn allow you to monetise your videos and bring money in to allow you to build even more models.
