This episode got me so hyped when I was a kid. Just how absolutely simple, elegant, and effective the green teams craft was. I was obsessed with the idea that I could totally make one with junk laying around

The episode was great, much like the entire show but you won my heart over when you said "Yep, he's still the teacher, I'm the student." My respect for both of you rose tenfold in that moment. Thank you for all the good that you do. Much love. 💛

That was a good run tho for both halves. I have to admit I thought y'all wouldn't get done in time, rather than losing something like the skirt. It all reminds me of the "kit" you could get from (I think) popular science back in the day with the leaf blower lol. Excellent job from both teams. Very nice.

Granted, "Junkyard Wars" ("Scrapheap Challenge" in the UK) got messy at times, but ultimately, it was constructive.

I remember watching this show when I was like 10 (33 now)!!! Great memories... While obviously many stuff was faked I enjoyed it... Although even back then, I noticed the same types of things I hate about most modern shows... That being the dumbing down of information so that even the general public, aka the guy flipping burgers at McDonalds who smokes pot everyday can understand, the "everyone is special/gets a trophy" aspect, and the feminist "let's pretend the women are actually contributing something"....

Ahhh, CLASSIC Junkward Wars (yes it's George instead of Robert but Cathy's still there, and so is Mohawk Dog in the opening titles), with teams competing in a season-long round-robin elimination tournament, each one with an expert assistant/advisor seconded to them. The show worked much better this way.

Perfect, just mentioned the hovercraft was designed in Britain, but that wasn't good enough so it was America designing one at the same time, what had that got to do with anything? They didn't come up with it first, they could have gone on and on by saying then after the US it was China, then Russia then france etc,

I love scrap yards/ junkyards and nothing against the people who work there because I have work in them as well but you know it's got to be the highlight of a junkyard owner when you hide good parts in the yard instead of trying to find them LOL

The throttle on the lift engine would creep back towards idle when it was running. That’s why Sean and I were both thrown from the craft (gradual loss of lift air). We were all bumming when we realized the skirt had ripped. Probably wouldn’t have won but it would’ve made for a much better race!

The only thing fake about this episode were a few items planted in the junkyard to make both craft operational. Wouldn’t be much of an episode if the crafts didn’t actually work. Otherwise, this was not fake. Busted my behind on build day!!!
