I always recommend these videos to anyone who will listen, been calling it "The most 'Murican video I've ever seen" though to be fair I'm a Swede so I don't know how well it stands up to others opinions. Taking a close to free car, getting it in approximately roadworthy shape, then driving it 250 miles to watch Nascar isn't something that would be possible here, just one reason I envy the US a bit lol

Back in the 90s I worked at an RV dealership. At the time,many of the Chevrolet powered motorhomes that sold came back because of a heat sync starter issue. Customers would load up with all their stuff on a hot day and first time they shut it off , it wouldn't start again. By the time I showed up , the engine had cooled down so it started immediately for me. Most customers would come back and trade in for a Ford . Generally the Ford's made a more reliable unit with more torque. Chev should have installed heat shields around the starters, that was the main problem other than a lack of bottom end HP and torque. Cheers Digs!

@31:20 those electric fuel pumps were an after production retrofit on Chevy p30/p37 chassis to help with vapor lock. They pumped to the pump on the engine. They are dependant on the oil pressure switch to engage and have a time out.

I feel like at this point there needs to be some sort of verb created for this specific tradition of madness. I'll humbly submit the word 'Scamparing' for this cause. It's a mashup of scrounging/scouring for a free(ish) RV, camping in (or around) said RV, all for the sole purpose of attending a NASCAR race. Freakin LOVE seeing these videos roll out each year, so please keep it up as long as they remain fun to make!

Please make more camper videos! I actually just bought a 1986 ford travelcraft and am planning on doing the same thing. We’re gonna take it too a country concert about 3 hours south in Dayton OH and then plan to take it too a nascar race in August in Brooklyn Michigan! So me and my friends are super excited! I’ve only known your channel for a few months but let me tell you not only are the camper videos my absolute favorite but I’ve been waiting for this video since your last camper video came out! Hey Junkyard Digs Roofing silicone (such as Henry Tropicool wet patch roof repair) is the miracle solution to stop RV roof leaks. You could smear it over sticks and make a water tight roof!

Whenever I watch JYD, I always take a shot whenever I hear “As you can see”. I have yet to survive an episode. 😅

Kevin I've been watching your channel for a few years now and I really really enjoy these dead campers to NASCAR races episodes. My wife and I are both huge NASCAR fans in Texas. You guys should bring the camper to Texas Motor Speedway, It's only 757 miles which should take you 11 hrs and 10 minutes. All highway miles on i-35! Pack lot's of belts and fuel filters!

I also have a heat shield and hi-torque starter in the build list for my 83 Pace Arrow motorhome. We live full time in it, with significant modifications giving us a bunk bed up front for our daughter, a folding wind turbine tower, and solar power sufficient for us to be power-independant for the first time in YEARS. It feels wonderful. Now to finish the engine rebuild.

I saw you guys on the Kansas City news when you were at the speedway! Was so cool to me, I told the wife hey look it's Kevin and Dalton! I am from south west Iowa, but I moved to Kansas City area in '91, I do live far from Dalton.

This might be one of the most uneventful videos on the channel -- well deserved for the Junkyard Digs team!! The camper revivals might be some of my favorite on the channel just because it's so satisfying to see something nobody ever cares enough about getting the attention for a change of pace. Keep up the awesome work guys!
