Juno 60 v take 5

I think the pwm on the Juno is kind of special, so trying to replicate it on the take5. Even the chorus can sound kind of close. Probably could get closer with hours of tweaking and cork sniffing. The chorus on the ob6 can't get even remotely close, maybe I'll do more comparison vids some time soon

The differences are minimal to none. For practical use, 100% identical. Not sure if YT audio compression masks any any differences. Can you compare the 60 with OB6 if your time allows ? Thanks

That's really close! Any specific kind of patches on the Juno that you were NOT able to approximate on the Take 5?

Yes indeed. I was messing around with them again last night and there are for sure differences. The take5 has a high frequency roll off in general that the juno doesn't have, so on bright sounds they're different. Looking at the pwm in more detail they sound different when the pulse is thin. Here the pwm on the juno is only about half..

@@danallegre3264 Ah, yes, not entirely surprised. That's usually where many comparison videos go "wrong". There's quite some sounds that can be reproduced with any / most synths (there's some OB-6 patches I put in my Prophet 6, and vice versa - just for fun), and then there's all those areas where synths have their unique sounds. All that said; really impressed how close it got; especially surprised how similar the Chorus is. The Take 5 looks like a really fun synth (and in some areas more powerful than both the Prophet-6 and OB-6); thanks for your video, and enjoy those synths!

had both, still own the take 5, i prefer the envelope shapes on the juno, they can both sound similar if you're very selective in which sounds you produce because they share a bit here and there, but ultimately very different sounding synths

The 5 slightly warmer and rounder but the difference is negligible.

My take on this --- I don't know if it's my fifth take -- is that the Take 5 is a lot cheaper!

@@SCOTTY2K bollocks. in a blind test i might not know which one is which but i'd know the difference for sure and i'd know which one i liked better (or at least be able to articulate the differences i was hearing in each example).

on certain patches here, I agree. First patch example sounds exactly the same between the two imo.

@@jamesortiz6312 The first patch, to me, sounds quite different. The Juno seems crisper/brighter. Listen to the attack in particular.
