This lyrics of this song are in the form of Ghazal, the most popular form of traditional urdu poetry. This ghazal represents a sarcastic lament addressed at the Creator (or lover) which may be used interchangeably in Urdu symbolism). Jise junoon e mohabbat ata kiya tu ne tamam khalk me mumtaz kar diya tu ne the one whom you have granted the madness of love you have made great (famous/infamous/exalted) them within the universe zia e shamma se parvano ko kiya paida phir usko shamma ki lau se jala diya tu ne you created from candlelight, the moth (which swarms around a candle, symbolising the lover ) and then you allowed it to get scorched from the heat of the candle (meaning ruined in love - irony) kahi bhi jab na mila dard e ishq ae khadim ataa e dost ko dil me chupa liya tu ne when pain/grief was nowhere to be found you hid/planted/saved the deeds of your friend within the heart (the deeds/misdeeds of the friend/lover became sufficient grief for the heart. In Urdu ghazal symbolism pain equates to pleasure).

Wow, so great to see them get international recognition. A very proud Indian right here. The fusion of Indian and Western in the musical instruments was interesting and delightful. Music really brings the world together. P.S. Junun or Junoon literally translates to 'Obsession' P.p.s. I am impressed with Stephen's pronunciation of hindi words

I found this album at a public library, of all places, about 9 months ago. And fuck, its great. The BEATS!!! Its hypnotizing, you get lost in a swirl. Glad to hear they will be touring!

Bought this album when it was first released, as I am a huge Jonny Greenwood and Radiohead fan. You can tell this version is very sped up because of the time crunch television shows enforce. Anyway...they are great live. Saw them open for Radiohead at MSG and this song was maybe 10 minutes or so. Shame to see it so short here but oh well
