The Jurassic Park scenes we never got to see include a lot of older movie scripts and concepts that were almost made official canon and lore but have now been given alternate status as unmade apocryphal material. These include unused dinosaur attacks, fights, longer scenes and different endings.

According to Laura Dern, they had nearly a dozen models of severed limbs from Ray Arnold. She said during one take, she heard laughing around the set, and looked around and saw that she was dragging all of the limbs from her foot, and the crew was laughing at her. They were only ended up using one arm, but I guess they had a bunch of variations for some reason.

Of all the "missing" scenes. I feel they really should have shown how the T-rex broke free aboard the ship to San Diego. Missed opportunity there. Also the alternate San Diego plot does sound better on paper than what we got.

Yeah, it's so bizarre the Rex just wanders into the suburbs and then wanders back to town; having him go there looking for his kid makes a lot more sense and also doesn't just drop Kelly from the script entirely. Tembo stalking him through San Diego would also have been a good use of the character, given what his arc ends up being (let him feel responsible for what's happened because he allowed InGen to capture him in the first place); I am glad they cut Nick attacking the police, though; I already hate that character and having him intervene in police trying to stop a maneater in a major metropolitan area would just make him worse.

I dunno, it would absolutely be an amazing scene, but I feel like the way it happened kept the horror feel. We don't know anything more than the characters, the boat just won't respond, crashes into the dock, and then we have the creeping dread as they explore the boat trying to find anyone. I dont know how they could fit in the scene without taking away the mystery and suspense of the ship arriving.

I recently dug out my old Sega Genesis to play that platform's Jurassic Park game. It includes levels cut from the movie but were in the novel like the river, while also building on Mt Sibo being not entirely dormant (in the game, it's quite active). A good friend of mine still plays the Jurassic Park game released on Sega CD, where you go to Isla Nublar after the movie to retrieve the dinosaur eggs.

I like the idea of Eric Kirby being a closer representation of Tim Murphy from the book; I've always liked that character more and I feel like this is a more interesting character than what we ended up with. Cooper being more than just a random mook, but a surrogate father/big brother figure is also a better relationship dynamic than Eric just vacationing with his mom's boyfriend like we got in the final film. Giving the characters more nuance is something I'm always on board with.

If you want a piece of Dino media from the horror genre, I recommend things like the movie, 65 and the game franchise, Dino Crisis, the latter of which is mostly inspired by Jurassic Park with dinos on the loose and are very dangerous, even the herbivore are dangerous if either A; you piss them off or worse than that, B; you try to get their babies without their permission and see you as a threat to their offspring.

58:40 Honestly if they just had a scene of the Navy being told about the T-Rex by multiple sources and denying it, calling it a prank, and moving on, it would be very realistic! And would serve as a huge plot point later of "There are no Dinosaurs on the mainland" later bc the Government would have to admit to a T-Rex rampage in San Deigo that they tried to cover up after not helping with it.
@nathanielweber7843
@nathanielweber7843 6 ай бұрын
Honestly, fair. Or even if they just had a scene where they called the base and showed them scrambling for helicopters to deploy forward infantry but then Sarah tranq’s the buck in the ship right as the blackhawks are coming on-scene to make them irrelevant by that point. Then it could still be the government covering it up because they were embarrassed that a national laughingstock and his gf beat the US military to saving San Diego from a monster after they laughed at him for years.

I think the power plant in Fallen Kingdom, where claire and company turned on the power to find Blue, is the original geothermal plan. The base of volcanoes is the proper location. In the book, the distance between the visitor center, Hammond's bunker and the power plant was never established. The movie made everything seem side by side, which in reality wouldn't happen because the bunker and power plant would be considered eyesores and kept away from public eyes. No different than the way amusement parks operate today. The behind the scenes are hidden.

First things first. I saw your 1 hour vid yesterday and I love your channel. The JP lore is so much greater than I knew, love it. I do think that any action the military would take however would either be played down to make them seem ineffective, or too quick to be worthwhile. A Trex shows up in thr harbor and I imaginr the response would be to get a few birds in the air and put the monster down. Helicopters are cool, but not fun to watch. If Seals or any military force just showed up in apcs with small arms, I thibk it'd just ha e looked idiotic. Even the scene at the end of JP 3 seemed a little silly if the military was aware of the existence of larger carnivores, which they were by that time. It would have been sick to see a tank roll up though and be shocked by the speed of the rex as it rounded a corner and charged the armored vehicle. But a lot of the scenes would have likely looked silly. I'm personally a little tired of modern media making the military seem inept. Zombie movies and series do it all the time. I do wish Roland Timbo returned to hunt the rex in the big city. Such a cool and interesting character, I like that they did end his story the way they did but it o ly made me want to see more of him.

What's funny about the idea of the tex vs the military on base, it would still cause a lot of damage and probably kill multiple people before a sufficient response could be mustered up. Typically, the only people on base are MPs, Master at Arms for the navy, and they usually carry only small arms, nothing big enough to take down the rex. By the time something big enough to get the rex was pulled out, especially after a comms delay and treading in info, the rex may have done his/her thing and left the base already. However, it wouldn't get very far as the military would obviously pursue and eliminate it.

Having Ricardo Delgado sharing such info on JP3 is so cool!! Always admired his work ever since Age of Reptiles. Funnily enough he would eventually make his own Spinosaurus-centric story, taking cues for Yojimbo, though the dead spinosaurus offspring wasn't included. Still, there is enough of a blank in the movie to include all reasons behind Spinosaurus' persistence besides the Peter Pan crocodile homage.

If they did a Jurassic park remake that was more loyal to the books and given a more horror aspect to it I think it would be amazing! Like you could easily give the raptor scenes the same feeling from the Alien franchise.

Having a pack of raptors take down the spinosaurus in JP 3 would have been a nice symmetry to the t-rex taking down the raptors in Jurassic Park. The idea that they were stalking the humans the entire time for their eggs is a frightening call back to Grant saying: that's when the attack comes, not from the front, but from the side, from the other two raptors you didn't even know were there. So in my mind Grant would have left the eggs behind as the raptors attacked the spinosaurus but as he's doing so one of the raptors, the mother, turns, sees him, goes to pursue him, maybe gets too close, but notices her eggs and takes them instead of attacking Grant and the others. The rest of the scene would transition similar to the original ending. In the morning Grant and the Kirbys would hear someone with a megaphone shouting their names and they run yelling: That's a very bad idea! The rest of the story plays out as the original ending completely. That would have been better in my opinion and it would have only added a few more minutes to the final film which is actually short by comparison.

Imo the military vs dinosaurs idea getting axed was a good idea for the reasons you listed. Like there's always a point where fiction and truth balance and it's a fine line

Would you do a video looking at the alternate story’s from the games? I’ve always wondered about the story in the most world PlayStation game. It’s almost like it’s it’s own story.

I always have wanted to see the T-rex river scene, man that would have been amazing. How horrifying would it be to be floating down a river... and bein' like, oh that rex can't swim.. turns out it can. Oh shit that would be horrifying.

The best way they could make a movie that pits dinos vs military is to make a movie set between jp2 and 3, make some kind of plot point that requires retrieval of something from the original parks security complex in the visitor center. Use a small team and give it the feel of a metal gear solid/resident evil/dino crisis and most importantly, make it a true horror film.

I feel like the military vs dinosaurs would only really work with either a large pack of something smart or one of the hybrids from the world movies. While the Dino’s can be scary, they aren’t monsters, and bullets will work on them, especially explosives such as grenades or rockets

Was there ever any lore about the rest of "The 5 Deaths"? We know Nublar and Sorna, but what are the others called? Were they going to be used for anything?

I’ve done a few videos on them. They’re called Las Cinco Muertes : Sorna, Peña, Muerta, Tacaño and Matanceros. Nublar isn’t actually apart of the chain. The 5 Deaths are named after ways the natives died years before InGen showed up.

Funny thing to notice at around 1:55:28 - the art here shows the mosa biting into what seems to be a humpback whale or a similar kind of non-toothed whales (no idea how those are called in English). Throwback to the Jurassic Park tell tale game and the comment about the Tylosaur eating the "last humpback" when released. Coincidence? Probably, but it's still a funny observation.

11:40 BOOK SPOILERS BELOW BTW I don't know if you mentioned it before this clip played but the scene with the rex taking ludlow back to the nest is a slight variation of a scene from the end of the second book. Sarah kicks Dodgson out from underneath a Jeep where Daddy rex picks him up and takes him to the nest where the following in the clip takes place, the stuff with the gun, the hunt, etc is not from the book however.
