The gates are open! We are take a closer look to new two new additions to the Hammond Collection: Velociraptor Blue and Owen Grady. To talk about designing these toys and showcase how they’ve evolved them even further, we are joined by Mattel’s Greg Murphy. Further, we are joined by Glen McIntosh to bring us behind the scenes and showcase how they brought Velociraptor Blue to life in the film.

It's so cool to see that Mattel are learning from their "mistakes" of previous figures, such as the smaller feet, more accurate designs etc... But now we really need the Buck T-rex in the Hammond Collection wave !

Agreed, the Buck would be an absolutely sell among the fans. I hope that the crowdfund gate set’s failure won’t be a setback to prevent him from becoming part of the HC lineup nonetheless.

The new sculpt for blue looks great, but it does make me wonder why we can’t get an accurate sculpt for the JP raptors? Hopefully when the tiger striped raptor they revisit the sculpt. Even just a remodeled head would be enough

Agreed, we needed these design choices in the HC raptors from the get go. If they were to apply them on some rereleases it would be most appreciatable.

I’m going on a limb and saying it will be the Carnotaurus… only because it’s image already been leaked and it’s larger than the current mid size dinosaurs. That and the dimetrodon.

Wish he came with his lever action rifle though, this is a line made for collectors anyway, so why are we going to shy away from guns with movie figures. Muldoon was able to have his, and we haven't had an Owen figure with his gun since the Hasbro big set.

Oh my gosh, Hammond Collection Blue the Velociraptor is so Dino-marvelous 🤩! She much better than previous Hammond Collection Velociraptor, great job Mattel. Despite i have Amber Collection Blue the Velociraptor, but for diorama, i much prefer this size, much smaller. Blue always be my most favorite Velociraptor all of time 😊. Hopefully i manage to find and grab this one, i so beyond excited 😆!

Since their finally listening to us about goddamn time* Now it’s only a matter time we get the whole entire raptor squad and just a sweet tooth of the icing remake the Lost World Raptors done right with good colors accuracies of the color patterns n do not use gold eyes Goddamn, but rather simply just yellow eyes* with a 3-D printed it’s called from Stan Winston Marquette models n animatronic heads of the original raptor designs Since we’re getting a Carnotaurus on the way for HC we all want battle at big rock / Dominion, Allosaurus for HC line

Yup now they are dig their toes into the Jurassic World movies next year, I hope we can see other dinosaurs and characters as well. I want to see Hammond Collection Carnotaurus, Juvenile and Full Grown Allosaurus, Claire Dearing, Barry (Owen's Best Friend), Pyroraptor, Quetzalcoatlus, Therizinosaurus and of course the one dinosaur I wanted to the most from the Hammond Collection, The Giganotosaurus. How awesome would that be and can you imagine how much of a beast the Hammond Collection Giga if it really happened standing next your Hammond Collection T Rex?

Amongst a lot of Jurassic Park fans, Jurassic World and it's character are very disliked (for good reasons) so I doubt this will do well. The cast of The Lost World would have been great. Maybe even some of the vehicles. Also, making things Target exclusives really limits your audience. Especially world-wide as target doesn't ship outside of the US.

I know some JP fans really hate the Jurassic World era, and, to be fair, I still don't like Fallen Kingdom and I recognize that Dominion is probably the second-worst film in the franchise. However, I do still like Jurassic World, though it is the franchise embracing some dumber elements, and I would honestly list the first Jurassic World as better than Jurassic Park 3. Additionally, the dynamic between Blue and Owen in the films is great, even if it slightly betrays how velociraptors were portrayed in the original trilogy. I honestly prefer the films portraying the raptors as animals rather than rampaging monsters, which is one of the things I prefer about the Jurassic World films over the Jurassic Park trilogy. Additionally, Owen Grady may be kind of a misogynist in the first Jurassic World, but I do generally like Chris Pratt as Owen Grady in these films. And the bond he has with Blue makes Owen even more endearing of a character. I have no clue why Colin Trevorrow thought making him kind of a misogynist in the first film was a good idea; it definitely was not. Thankfully, it was not a consistent aspect of his character.

Really wish you guys would stop using the bendy wire tails, they can rip or tear easily and i'm sure the rubber will deteriorate given time. Make the switch to fully ball jointed tails like on the Anky. You made improvements to the sculpt, now stop using bendy wire tails.

Hi Mattel, just some friendly feedback. I feel the toe claws, hand claws and dew claws should have the same colour. So if its all unpainted then all unpainted, if all painted then all painted. For example I would buy the camp cretaceous spinosaurus if the claws were all unpainted or all painted, but not with the toe claws painted and rest not painted because it does not match. 😢 At least the light brown unpainted is acceptable as a claw colour. Same with the mosasaurus inner teeth. Thanks. 🙂
