Unfortunately in the black American community there is precedent of the majority being highly resistant to holding high profile/visibility men accountable. The cultural narrative used is that them getting caught doing wrong is a ploy to "bring them down" just due to them being prominent black men, i.e. that all claims/accusations are baseless and motivated by race and gender discrimination. There are so many examples of this, including OJ, Bill Cosby, R. Kelly, etc... the reason Jussie didn't get the same level of defense from the black community at large, in my opinion, is due to his sexuality and not being very masculine or not having an image that many black men can/want to empathize with

@@jennyanydots2389 - what makes you think he got set up tho? I didn't see any evidence for that. I'm honestly wondering. I'm open minded

The way he articulates himself is like a person emulating someone doing an interview. I can imagine him preparing and rehearsing for this and getting excited about the exposure. He's still trying to make it good for his career.

He is good friends with the host. That's why he went there. He would never go back to ABC where he did his first interview after "the incident".

He’s friends with the host and got him a guest spot on Empire. Of course he’s going to try to ride that train as long as possible.
