I'm so glad that these kind of shows (and people) can make it to tv for my viewing pleasure.

Probably one of the best moments in the show's series - Nicholas Parsons really is the star of this show!

I love this programme so much. A classic on radio and TV.

Possibly the best 4 combo on this show ever - Stephen Fry might squeeze in but I'm not sure at whose expense. Each contestant is not just eloquent and composed but also witty and can think laterally on the hoof.

I love how Paul, Sue and Stephen walk off (and Marcus too after sending out a cry for help) during Nicholas' recitation.

Seeing that recital, I'm really glad this episode is televised, rather then on the radio XD

There was an episode in 2006 (recorded during the Edinburgh Fringe) where Ross Noble was given the subject of "mime", and without saying a word Ross got a huge laugh from the audience. Nicholas then had to explain what happened to the listeners... "Ross took the subject, I have to explain and he went into a mime. And the audience loved it. This is the first time we've had mime on radio and it's worked! And he got so carried away with the reaction he got, the only way we were going to stop him was for me to leave my chair and go over there and physically restrain himself!" Incidentally Ross Noble would have been on the televised series were it not for prior commitments. Others who would have otherwise accepted were Sheila Hancock (a veteran of the show), Jenny Eclair (herself a 23-year veteran of the show), Lee Mack (played once in 2004), and Helena Bonham Carter (yes, seriously! Turns out she's a fan of the show and wrote to the TV producer Andy Brereton to appear, but the dates didn't work out for her. Nothing from stopping her going on the radio show though!)

In his book "Welcome to... Just A Minute", Nicholas Parsons thought that the timeslot for this show was wrong, and it should have gone out later in the evening.

This could have been ruined slightly by the fact that he recited it wrong, which made me a little sad...but I was laughing too hard to care.

They often miss the repetition of words like "was" and "and," are they allowed?
@eleanorsmith71526 жыл бұрын
The smaller words that make up the English language are usually ignored so long as they’re not used to excess (like if someone said and 5 times in a row)
