Junna! Junna! Junna! I could watch her play all day. I love how much she gets into it! I agree with you about the way she plays too. It is that much more exciting. I was pleasantly surprised when the concert footage showed. I know she does a few those one man lives along with her freelance work. I would love to see her play live one day! Great reaction as always!

To be honest, I really can't find a place to start in talking about how good Junna is. Maybe the fact she connects so personally with the song allows her to use her skills to the max. She's pushing it to the max. She's goes at it like a completely wild woman. Right now I'm totally stunned.

She's a great drummer. I enjoy all her performances solo and with Trident the power metal trio where she is also a member. Lovebites also does a great cover which is another one of my favorite groups. Babymetal and Rob Halford played Painkiller/Breaking The Law a few years back live which is also great. Su-metal is another one of my favorite vocalists.

If she can play a Judas Priest song and looks like she's having the time of her life I say do it. Especially with a Judas Priest song like this one that's a non-stop workout for a drummer. Excellent performance by her.

First things first for those that don’t like her “flair”, she has EVERY RIGHT to show it if she so chooses. What I see is a woman that absolutely loves playing drums and her excitement and enthusiasm while playing is both therapeutic and mesmerizing. We’d all be lucky to find that one vice that brings out what drumming does for her.

She can play anything. This new drum professor will inspire the old and new generation in the coming years. Kids are amazing to watch. They can play better then adults. Junna is not only playing to the song. She's leading it, she's inviting painkiller to follow her into that magic world she's obviously from. Junna Is holding a sword and shield which I can see through her style while she raises her sticks junna is protecting the song by her drums from a battle against fighting mistakes and missed notes and she's won. Mistakes gone, missed notes conquered!... I want to see her play Rush and actually perform neil pearts drum solos alone instead of a song first.. then let's see if the actual drum professor has a mentor!!

The people that say energetic drummers like Junna are doing too much can go watch drum machine demos. She's having fun, she's precise, and she sounds good. Most of all, she draws in non-drummers with her playing, something that not a lot of drummers can do on their own. It's funny that you mention Liliac because when Abigail puts out thirty second videos of her drumming and smiling at the camera and shaking her hair, there are always people on social media saying she's showing off too much, she's not taking drumming seriously, etc. and if these people have profile pictures, it's always the old metal dudes trying to hate on the ladies.

Junna always turns it up to 11. As another example of how she makes a song her own, here is her version of Ruma featuring Riinu Kun: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bqmpaNSjvt6cpZc.html Here is the original with what sounds like a drum machine: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eduUmcxqpq7PlYk.html The difference is amazing. Given her many years creating her drum parts for Girls Rockband Kakumei I am not surprised at her ability to move beyond the original drum parts in her drum covers.

YES! That made my day. I completely agree. Why not go for it and ham it up. I'd rather not watch a robotic, note for note cover. I like seeing people put their own flair/style. You can program a drum machine to do the same thing, but that's just boring.

I agree 100%! I always told every band that's was in, not to expect me to be a trained monkey behind the kit because it wasn't happening. I've always found it a huge let down and disappointment when I would see live bands that hardly moved. I looked at it like this, if you don't look like you are into your music then how in the hell can you expect anyone else to be into it?! I'd rather spend the money it costs for the cover charge and gas to get to the show on the bands CD and stay home with a case of beer. That way I'm not bored as hell watching zombies on stage, and i save money and don't have to worry about a DUI.

JUNNA will be filling in for Marty's Friedman's band in Japan for a little while. So that gives you some indication where she ranks here. I was hoping she might fill in for Babymetal at some point. Which actually isn't as crazy as it sounds. She already did a cover of Doki Doki Morning in full Battle Armor yet lol. So there is that, secret audition maybe? 🤔 Secondly Marty already has a Kami Band member playing In his Japanese band with Takayoshi Ohmura! 🙀💕 So she would already have a connection there. Lastly her own band Trident's Advance she left awhile ago & is freelancing now. JUNNA is a beast though with supernatural powers!! Great reaction here BTW!! 🤘🦊💕

She does a few live shows every year in Tokyo and a couple other venues in Japan, those are an excerpt from one I am sure, it is enough to pay for the bills I am guessing. She knows people go to live shows or watch her for just that, to see a show along with great skills. Otherwise one could just stay home and listen to studio recordings.

I have had the priveliege of knowing Scott Travis for many years. He is a very hard working musician and will do things like play drums in a local band to keep his edge going. Years go, I think it was Modern Drummer, one of the drum mags, about twenty years or so ago considered Scott Travis the best drummer in the world. After seeing him play, I would not disagree with it. They said that Scott is the Drummer's Drummer. There is no difference in coordination between his left or right hand, can play any groove, any time signature, and more importantly, has the ability to play in a bad and sound good. One day about thirty or so years ago, I was with Scott at a drum competition where he was one of the judges. He was telling me about how good some of the drummers in the contest were, but would never get past being a garage drummer. He said that they could play virtually anything except with a band and he was right. But some people are satisfied with just playing drums. Anyway, coming to Junna, she is very talented. Probably one of the most energetic drummers on the planet. We know that she is very intense and can use her talents to play with bands. I have seen her play for a number of years, but I do not know what her full range of drum skills are. Senri is probably the most versitile drummer on the planet where she plays in different time signatures flawlessly with poise, accuracy and the ability to drive the beat. She has been out there for many years. Kind of funny when she was into rock and metal and then migrated to jazz and fusion. Soma has played a few jazz pieces but, pretty much, sticks to a quarter note beat. She is very intense with her music talents. She is definitely one of the premier female Japanese drummer. Senri Kawaguchi having the ultimate skill set followed by Yoyoka Soma, then Junna. Yes, there are a plie of female Japanese drummer you could put on a list. Two of these Japanese female drummers are on the top 500 drummer list in the world. Junna could be, Miki Tsunoda should have been put on the list before Senri Kawaguchi was even born. I just listed these three names of female Japanese drummers making the biggest impact on drumming in Japan. One thing is for sure, none of these highly skilled Japanese drummers have gotten the recognition or acceptance they deserve.

Senri and Junna are two very different beasts. Senri is considered one of the best drummers in the world, maybe even over time. She has a very broad field of different music recorded in very prestigious contexts with world renown musicians. She plays mainly progressive jazz, but can play almost anything. She is also very correct and nice, minimal movements when playing. Junna, on the other hand is a beast of playing hard, fast and precise rock, and has great showmanship. Two so different types that comparing is meaningless. But, when it comes to being an accepted drummer of world class, Senri is miles above Junna. Which might not say anything about skills.
