There has been quite a chunk of gameplay coverage about this game from multiple youtubers and outlets that HAVE played it, and they're all saying it's pretty fun despite being an odd addition to the franchise.

Especially with the battle passes, I have a feeling micro-transactions might be a bit intrusive

I will add though: there has been quite a bit of coverage about the game and gameplay itself by other youtubers and media outlets, and all of them are claiming the game is pretty fun. This game IS an action platformer. It does have the primary Crash platforming we all love and know, alongside combat which is secondary. It's just taking all of that and putting it in a multiplayer spin. Hardcore Crash fans and especially Reddit will keep on saying "who asked for this? This is a moba lol TFB sucks. I hated Crash 4, so I will hate this" and so on. It is true that their marketing with the game is pretty bizarre and subpar, but let's also not dumpster the game for what the devs are at least trying to do for a brand new take, instead of doing just another remake or another Crash Team Racing. If a kart racer, party game, and beat 'em up genres were introduced back then as new concepts for the series, there is no reason why this wouldn't be able to be introduced either. Give it a chance, some time, and see how it can be fun in YOUR hands, and not rely on other people's perception. Try looking up proper gameplay and coverage from content creators such as CanadianGuyEh and DestinationMarc. They have more than enough of it for the wumpa banking game mode. For F2P, it is possible down the line, but starting as one, it would just not be a good thing, especially from an MTX-heavy perspective. It would 100% be infested with it, and potentially lock stuff behind a bigger paywall than the already priced $30 for the base game alone. Additionally, this is, in the end, a spin-off. One spin-off would not dictate a primarily Single Player-focused franchise. Some hardcore Crash fans, myself included, are excited for this new take. Others either want to see it succeed despite no interest in Multiplayer, and some others prefer to shun it because it's not a Bash remake or their hatred has carried over from Crash 4. Neither of which are helpful feedback in any capacity for the product itself.

What I'm saying is that do not shun new ideas mixed with some old in favour of 100% only old ideas. @@AbdulTheArabicGuy I agree, let’s all just give the game a chance first and see how it does… If this game does well and plays like a Crash game, great (There are many nuances and small details, of course, for me that would determine that)… However, if this game ultimately does not sell and overall performs poorly, it should be noted AND OF NO SURPRISE as to why it didn’t do well: it’s not really what much of the fanbase was craving or has been asking for from Crash Bandicoot. And let me clarify: that’s not a knock on trying new ideas for the game (or other games even), I’m all for it as well, BUT (with the added asterisk), it’s just to approach new entries and games for Crash with caution ⚠️ and take into account what fans have been asking for (must I remind of the Crash dormancy and wild directions the series took/explored/ventured on with Twinsanity and the Titans games especially?)… I believe there is genuine concern from some in the Crash community about this game and the direction the series is going in, in general. Why? My guess is because I think they were hoping for something different. But I can’t be sure.. Do I think this game will flop? Not necessarily, but I wouldn’t rule it out (and I don’t know - I honestly hope it doesn’t - yep, I hope it does well)… But I am concerned and confused by what has been shown to us thus far for this game, and I think it’s a fair assessment to make (and others are too). … I think what it comes down to … it’s honestly just about thinking about what the fans want, and delivering on it, and that’s how people are appeased. But hey, maybe that’s just me. But I just don’t think it is. I just think people are wary of the changes that were made to Crash along the way and many want to see Crash games mainly “play it safe”, while also continuing to introduce new content and ideas. But again, maybe that’s just me talking… What Activision and the devs. behind Crash and Spyro should understand, in my opinion, is that IF they try new directions for new games, always keep in mind the fanbase and the community. The community feedback speaks volumes. If the fanbase is expecting one thing and the devs. and publishers are giving us another, AND the game doesn’t end up doing well, understand that the community is generally not interested in the game that was delivered (the direction that was taken/way it was approached).. Case and point: Listen to the community.. Also, in terms of it being F2P, I agree that the game should stick to a paid model not only to keep in line with what Crash games have done for years: offer (mainly) paid games on console, but also for the other primary reason of staying away from LOTS OF frustrating and sickening, non-consumer friendly, Microtransactions. MTX should stay in the garbage 🗑 from whence they came…

Animations are pretty bland too, especially compared to other multi-character games like Nitro Fuelled. For game that's really marketing being a cartoony melee with the Crash cast, there isn't much personality to it.

I agree, the game does feel like it needs some character voice lines and like other people said, changing the announcer would make it better, too..

@xPaolo18x While I think this may be good, it doesn't connect to the fanbase in any way, and I don't blame them much. Crash wasn't born to be an online multiplayer, even less one of those live services supported by microtransactions.

@xPaolo18x This is the problem, first they complain that the entertainment industry can't create anything new, only knows to make sequels, remakes, reboots, adaptations and rip-offs, and then Toys for Bob delivers us a game that uses existing characters of an established franchise, but the game is completely new, it may create a new genre, and people complain they want Crash Bash Remastered or Crash 5, more of the same.
