From "That Little Ol' Band From Texas"-One of the baddest rock guitar riffs of all time, 'Just Got Paid' is off of ZZ Top's 1972 album 'Rio Grande Mud'. Originally played in open E tuning with a slide solo, here I'm showing you how to easily play it in standard tuning. I also show you a beginner and intermediate-friendly way of playing the main riff, as well as the more advanced version that Billy Gibbons is using. Standard tuning solo ideas and solo rhythm guitar are also included. Hope you enjoy this one!

When playing the G&A chords at the 10th-12th fret, try playing just the 2 notes D&B(12th fret) then slide to the 14th fret for the A chord. Gives it a slide guitar feel.

Very nice. Great job on the constant thumping jumpin E. In standard tuning, try going to E on the D string for the end of the riff, after the pull off on the G. Hear if you like it better. I do. 😁 Of course Gibbons uses a different tuning which makes it sound ultra cool, as he intended it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bMlnl5tzvrDdaH0.html
