The way he creates opportunities for his guys to score & his scoring himself is so valuable, that its really up to this Atlanta Hawks Organization to put the right pieces around him. Will Trae Young and The Atlanta Hawks turn things around or will they fall short once again??

Dude is incredible. Easily my current favorite player and has a really bright future. I’m certain he will get a ring if he can stay healthy.

Yeah, he may have his struggles but young is a very good player. The hawks definitely need to put a better supporting cast around him so he can succeed

He goes just like the Hawks go. In the first half, he's good about passing the ball off and getting assists. In the 2nd half, he and DJ try to out-do each other. They quit passing, and they play no defense. The rest of the team doesn't care, so they play no defense and just stand around because they know full well that Trae and DJ are going to take all the shots. Not only that, but they both take a lot of really STUPID shots. BOTH Trae and DJ are cancer, and you can take that to the bank. I've pretty much watched them play almost every game this season, and it would make me happy as shit if the Hawks traded almost the entire team. Quin is frustrated as well. They don't do anything he coaches them to do. This is NOT his fault. They're EASILY the worst 2nd half team in the NBA, and maybe one of the worst I've ever seen.

Trae Young is the most elite, electrifying point guards in the league right now. Whether we love him or not, he averaging nearly 27 points per game, his playmaking skills had him averaging 11 assists per game and he became a fan favorite with the Atlanta Hawks. He had dominant crossovers as well. You don’t have to be a fan; at least, we respect him enough to know he shows sportsmanship.

He's not bad except on defense. He is a scorer who makes to many mistakes. He needs a lot of help if he's going to ever win a chip. Is best opportunity is San Antonio. Pop coaching & a big who can b dominate. He's not the guy to build around, he's a solid #2 guy tho

My only problem with Trae is his defense... he needs to beef up then he'll become more of a threat on both sides of the ball. He definitely one of my top 3 points in the game today for sure

Nobody holds others players to the same standard. Nobody looks at curry and says nah he’s not is cuz he doesn’t play defense. Nobody says harden sucks cuz he don’t play defense. Haliburton is better they say. Did you know traes defensive rating is the same is Halliburton’s and was actually better until recently? Everybody wants to discount trae though because of his defensive abilities. I don’t get it

There are two sides to the court and Trae can't guard G-League talent but it's really not necessary for a modern point to play good D. It's nice but you can win without it.

Without Trae, the hawks would be in the same predicament as the pistons. Steph curry and the warriors aren’t winning either yet he doesn’t get nearly the same negative criticism and curry has the better supporting cast. If Trae doesn’t get the help he needs to win, most likely will demand a trade just as Dame did to Portland and now he’s on a team that is number two in the east (closing in on the top spot).

Not even close in his +/- he is -75 that season, at same time Bogdanovic is + 59 who is their 6th man this season, this means that hawks starters underperformed in this season he is probably the most annoyed teammate in whole league to have. His stats is absolute empty this season.

@@vasilijechess2631 this is a misuse of +/- data. Your 6th man spends more time playing against the opposing team's bench. These values would not be the same if they swapped places in the rotation.

How Jokic leading league in +/- every year probably he is also playing mostly against bench. Trey Young is not player who is making difference if some other superstar has similar supporting group he would be contender in this league. Young is overhyped and overrated.@@BlueGrovyle

@@vasilijechess2631 You conveniently left out that Trae's backcourt partner, Dejounte Murray, has the lowest +/- on the team. Why? Trae has the second highest +/- in the team's starting lineup this season. A team that's losing games often does not have the strongest starting lineup, and that doesn't all fall on Trae. The Hawks have 5-man lineups with Bogdanovic and Trae, as well as lineups with one of the two, with a variety of positive and negative net ratings. I agree that Trae's playstyle isn't ideal, but it is simply baseless to imply that his stats are empty simply because the team isn't winning. Were Luka's stats last season empty? Are Curry's stats empty this season?

When I first saw Trae, he didn't seem to possess the blazing speed and explosive lift that a 6'1" player requires to compete in the nba. But the rule changes, the manner in which nba play has evolved, makes Trae Young with his very unique skill set a superstar. Trae, 25 years ago, would have been a good nba player, post 2020, he's the next generation Stephan Curry.

Trae is a weird player to evaluate, he is an amazing scorer and floor general yet I would hate him on my team, he simply isn’t a winning player. An undersized guard who is ball dominant and doesn’t have good off ball movement.🤔

I can see where your coming from.. I like Trae when he is used strictly as a point guard and heavy ball handler, but like you said, once he has to work off ball he simply disappears

i hate when yall nitpick and bias luka does it everyone else when they don’t have the ball they just stand there just like trae and luka is ball dominant to but it’s a problem with trae luka ain’t win anything but yall praise him and he has a better team the. trae tell me what teammate trae played with who was all nba or a all star starter he has no help and im not saying he can’t be held accountable but yall gotta stop with nitpicking if yall can’t say the same for the other la especially luka because they have the same career tbh luka just doing a lil better

We suck at closing out games. If we get behind early we'll trail all game, or if we blow them out early it'll get chipped away all game until we lose it and then rarely get the lead back. With our utter lack of defense we are entirely reliant on our opponents going into a cold streak at the same time we get hot to shift the momentum.

Not every player is a two way player. Some will be bright on the offensive side & lack defensively, vise versa… It’s rare that guys are just as good on both side of the ball and do so at a high level. Could he improve? Yeah Forsure, but with offense that is high level, I would more times than not assume the defensive side isn’t so great

Exactly how can you say trae is not the reason hawks are struggling this season. First 15 games he was abysmal. He was literally bottom in fg percentage out of the top 50 scorers in the nba. He can have hot streaks but eventually start shooting you out of games and is non existent on defence like the game yesterday vs pacers. Look at the Miami series where he had the worst series from a star in nba history.he has terrible shot selection when Steph shoots logo 3s it’s a heat check, Trae just does it whenever he feels like it even if they are down double digits. Trae is way to small and inconsistent to be a real first option.Trae should definitely be held accountable for the hawks season.
