The way Bryce sings "Let me hold you, keep you close to me, I long to hear your voice" absolutely melts my heart and it's by far my favorite moment in the song

Love how this song is just saying Stolas doesn't need Blitz to love him back, but to acknowledge his feelings and talk to him rather than leave without words

The fact that viv changed "my little impish little plaything we both made our choice" to "dearest i know better now i must give you this choice" is beautiful

Now all we need is a song from Blitzøs view called Look Away because he thinks he's unlovable

Reminder to everyone that Stolas thought he wasn't getting the crystal and wasn't made aware of it getting delivered. This thing just showed up randomly, he INSTANTLY comes up with this banger of a song. That's the lore now and I'm glad for it.

A cool detail is how the moon, representing Blitz, went from being something small, manageable, and close, to becoming progressively getting larger, further away, and untouchable.

When this show first came out I thought "oh haha, gay horny owl. Its funny" But by the end of the first season I am genuinely invested and want them to be happy! This free cartoon on youtube is making me feel more than anything i've seen from holywood in years!

I think what hurts so much is how real this kind of one-sided relationship is to people. A lot of people live this kind of life where there is somebody they care deeply for that refuse for whatever reason to give them the time of day.

"What's left for me and my broken heart if I can't have you?" This line hits too close to home

Stolas doesn't just want Blitzo anymore, he wants him to be happy. But here, he understands what sacrifices might need to happen for that to come to pass. He hates what might need to happen, but he's willing to face it to help the one he loves. This episode is going to break me, and I'm sure many others as well. What a song.

I love how Stolas's eyes are usually empty red voids, but when he shows intense emotion, like when he stood up to Stella, or here at the end as he's consumed by grief, he gains little pupils, it really helps you connect with him more and makes the moment more impactful

I have never felt so moved and pained from a song ever. The animation, the desperation in Bryce's voice, it's gut-wrenchingly beautiful. Vivziepop literally never misses. This continually makes me more excited and terrified for Full Moon.

Love how Stolas' tears turn into shooting stars, like how he told Octavia that they are actually Azathoth's tears, which are the things that never were weeping at their nonexistence. Perfectly reflects how BlitzØ and Stolas' relationship never was.

You know what I love most about the moon symbolism? The moon directly affects the tides. So even when Stolas falls into and starts sinking in the water, the moon is still affecting him, even though it’s so far away.

One additional note on this. The animation adds immensely to the emotion, I can listen to Pinkham with my screen off and still feel the torment of Stolas. BUT, couple that with the animation seeing Stolas's own pained expressions, or his smile when "Let me hold you, keep you close to me" or when the glowing red constellation of Blitz⊗ caresses Stolas's cheek. The power of Pinkman's singing and the animation create a emotional storm that melts his nearly 56 year old overweight guys heart like few animated features have. "Please wake up" from "Once Upon a Forest" sung by the venerable Micheal Crawford drips with sorrow "Brighteyes" from "Watership Down" sung by Art Garfunkel. All I can say is bravo to everyone involved!

2:22 I don’t know why I don’t see more comments about this part, but the ghostly soft piano absolutely hits me with emotion. It’s the helplessness and fragility. It’s the fact that Stolas’ sings with that feeling of helplessness. He sings like Blitzø is the most fragile thing to him that he can’t get close enough to Blitzø to comfort him otherwise he’ll break, so all he can try to do is comfort with the softest voice he can manage. That’s what breaks me.

Vivziepop has successfully created a fanbase that can actually generate top-tier content and storytelling that she can then pick and choose from to elevate into canon stories and moments. Just incredible all around.

There was a poll awhile back that asked which series had better music, Hazbin or Helluva. I dont really think its a fair comparison. Hazbin is more like musical theatre, Helluva is more relevant to daily life. One is more showy and polished, but Helluva touches everything. Love, isolation, being trapped, and just straight awesomeness!

My heart is BREAKING for Stolas. The animation made me GASP. SO amazing and Bryce's voice was stunning.

This is the kind of thing that made me fall in love with Helluva Boss… this is what made me willing to put up with all the sex jokes (which _as a fan of the series_ I can say are hit or miss) and the gore. Just the raw, unfiltered EMOTION. In my opinion, this is the show at its absolute best.

Imagine an animator from the 1920’s watching this and seeing how far art has come. Bryce knocked it out of the park again. The animation is amazingly smooth, and the visuals are stunning. I hope that the fan who wrote the song is having the best time ever, knowing that their beautiful song inspired this.

I nearly cried watching this. I feel so bad for Stolas. He just wants Blitzø to see that he truly loves him rather than just wanting their little bargain.

Bryce Pinkham actually made Stolas' heartbroken voice sound realistic. I like it whenever voice actors and voice actresses show off the range of emotions in their characters' voices. It brings life to the characters' voices.

I love how the moon is depicted as stolas’ love. First small and bright, something he can hold close and dear. Then larger, something harder to hold but something still fully within his grasp. Then at the end, impossibly large but also just out of reach. It’s tragically beautiful and I love it.

You can tell Bryce put his heart and soul into this song. You can hear the emotion in his voice. He did an amazing job.

We need animation like this in movie theaters again. This is one of the examples of 2D animation showing just how far the limits can go.

Genuinely made me cry a bit the first time I watched it. Stolas sounds so passionate and pained here in this musical. The VA deserves it all hahaha

The lyric changes from the original song just make this so much more painful and emotional - we see that stolas doesnt just treat Blitzo as his "impish plaything" but as his dearest, The voicecracks full of pain are so powerful and expressive. So glad Paranoid DJ got to have this song animated. Was in tears when i saw this for the first time. I absolutely love that Stolas sees Blitzo as vulnerable and acknowledges that hes in pain and puts his walls up but hes still trying to fight to show him he loves him and he yearns for him. Cant express how gorgeous everything about this video is.

I do appreciate the fact that Stolas is actually paying attention to Blitzo and understands that he has many issues and Blitz is actively pushing him away because of said issues. Too many characters these days would usually just fall into a trope of "Why is he like this" as opposed to how Stolas is moreso saying "How can I support him" by giving him individual freedom and the show of trust with the crystal

Stolas is an amazing character with his development through the episodes, and his songs like this one make him much better.

You think this can't get more heartbreaking, then the next 15 seconds prove you wrong. rinse and repeat the whole song. It's gorgeous. I want to cry and scream and throw up, and my life is forever ruined. 💜

The way you can hear his voice break constantly but he maintains the beautiful notes... It's also really tense to see that he finally has the crystal and he's so scared on what to do next. Really makes me excited for the next episode.

Stolas is one of my all time favorite characters in any media. He's gorgeous. He's sophisticated. He's tragic. He's got a heart of gold. He's so wonderfully written and designed. His voice actor does him ultimate justice. I initially didn't like his design in the pilot, but it's leagues better now. I wish I could give stolas a hug and tell him that everything will be okay. He really needs a good friend. It seems like he's really carrying all of the cosmos on his shoulders completely alone. It seems like only Octavia really has a true connection with him (Blitzø has room for redemption, but he's just needs to really work on himself and his relationship with our sorrowful prince.)

It feels like the story has been leading into Blitzø realizing that Stolas CAN be harmed, and I’m terrified that Stolas is going to die before their relationship can truly begin, destroying Blitzø even more in the process.
