I've been waiting for someone to do a movie about this! The town where this happened was Monroeville. The hometown where Harper Lee set the novel "To Kill A Mockingbird." They would put on plays of the book every year in Monroeville. They still sent a black man to death row because of police coercion and witness perjury. The only deviation from a perfect job that this true story does in exemplifing America is the happy ending. However this movie seems to be celebrating the lawyer Bryan Stevenson, which obvious more people need to hear about. The only problem with making a movie like that is that such a true story is already "Hollywood." The task for movie makers is to bring it down to earth and make it as real as the noses in front of people's faces. Case in point was "Heartbreak Ridge." Good movie but the dramatization of an already dramatic story which melodramatized a solid movie that could have been better.

But I'm so happy a movie like this and other movies have been coming out in 2019 reflecting these stories like Harriet, Queen & Slim & now Just Mercy. Can't wait to watch this, & I'm a huge fan of Michael & Jamie!!! 😊

The “white side” of town? What does that even mean? Your comment is disgustingly racist. You should be ashamed of yourself for judging people by the color of their skin. Because of small minded, bigoted people like you, racism is alive and well. I’ve always heard that Cali was one of the more racist states in America. I guess it’s true! Anyhow, I’m thankful that I don’t live in a state with such backward, hateful people as yourself. FWIW, I don’t see color...I only see people. Maybe you should think about that before you judge others.

Is the book called "Just Mercy" or something else? I've broken the habit and started watching the movie and skipping the book. Smh.

Cuppy Robertson It’s called Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. It’s very good, but it’s very tough to read as well.
