As a teenager boy, I remember watching this movie with my dad. I also remember holding back tears for as long as I possibly could, so that my dad would not see me cry. As soon as I got to my bedroom and closed the door, I broke down crying! Guess I lost my man card that night, but could care less! I'm 50 years old now, married with 2 kids and 1 soon to be born in October, and this movie (and song by the late James Ingram) still brings tears to my eyes! 😢😢😢

The negative influences of this world are designed to make our heart sick through emotional & physical pain resulting in a given person turning to music as one source of comfort to the body. The painful realty of this existence gives rise to the birth of music in two forms, earthly & HEAVENLY. Earthly music speaks to the experiences of this world through the singer-song writer’s eyes. Oftentimes drug use (i.e. alcohol, smokes, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, benzos and propofol to name a few) is intertwined with the survival of an artist to deal with the pressure of performing in order to stay relevant in the music industry, and to serve as fuel for creativity. As a result, music celebrities develop a tendency to sin against their body, through excessive drug use, for not measuring up to or to satisfy the demands of their music. Any earthly joy they experience is darkened by the heavy burden of performing and the loss of privacy. The end users of their music become fans because the lyrics are relatable and the sound of the singer’s voice & rhythm helps them cope with the pains of this reality. Unfortunately, this band aid approach is only a time out from the hurt and in the meantime we are fortifying its wall with painful memories waiting in line. Who can save us from wounds that are silent, wordless and cruel all the while tearing us apart inch by inch on the inside, which could radically accelerate the demise of the human body? I will use caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY when writing about HEAVENLY music in the paragraphs below. That INVINCIBLE DIVINE be our HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO THROUGH HIS SON’S MISSION HAS INSPIRED believers to write songs that sing of HIS LIFE GIVING LOVE to deal with emotional & physical pain, economic instability, mortality and the emotional instability of others with the motive of winning over souls for HIS KINGDOM. The melody & theme of HEAVENLY music is hateful and intolerable to the devil, a spirit which causes us to be blinded of the effects of sin and is responsible for the woes of this world such as melancholy, anguish, tribulation and trial. These agitations of the soul create a heavy burden for the lost and could lead him or her to be hostile of songs that sing about GOD’S GLORY. This makes it clear that we cannot win the spiritual battle by our own strength. Moreover, on earth the devil has no equal. GOD has provided us with the ONE WHO CAN AND WILL LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt from a given sinner's heart if he or she (through faith) would open their understanding to Psalms (starting with the focus on Psalms 51:1-10 KJV), and hymns/songs giving praise to HIM for the purpose of being persuaded, converted and healed by the HOLY SPIRIT from within by transforming your body/temple into a meeting place for you and the KING OF THE AGES to commune as friends through the born again experience (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life). It is only here that the fears of tomorrow will diminish, the blessed assurance is given that you are HIS and HE LIVES. Once the blessed assurance is known in prayer (through the confession of wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, combine with admitting that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believing in one’s heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead to deliver us from sin's guilt) the world can never take it away because the world didn’t give it to you. All this LOVE is waiting for those who believe to receive. For it is written, by HIS STRIPES we are healed. Stand on GOD’S WORD and HIS PROMISES. Time will reveal that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD and HIM LOVING believers in a SPECIAL WAY (HIS VISION OF LOVE).

This movie was a true eye opener -- one of the best 80s movie ever made -- you had the typical high school teenager antics which holds true today -- but the reality of the movie sets in and that is why this movie is so special -- imagine being that guy Gary who had the biggest crush in the world on someone and he does everything and anything to get her, even making a fool of himself -- while she is with the bad boy who gets all the girls. She gets pregnant and Gary comes to her rescue -- pours his heart out, helps her and goes to the end of the earth for only to be betrayed by her in the final scene when she goes back to the guy who did her wrong -- That is real life -- the movie got it right -- not all movies end well -- this one ended well because the ending was real and it happens all the time - from 1984 to present day and beyond this does happen more often than not -- i saw the movie on VHS in 1984 and i cried my eyes out at 14 when i saw it -- my parents looked at me said -- sadly this does happen in real life and its a real opener -- i am glad i watched it -- loved the soundtrack -- the movie sent a strong message -- that holds true even today

Yes sir I was 13 in 1980 and that was the year I moved to Sayreville.NJ .from Union Beach NJ . Totally different the way the kids acted . I met a girl right before I turned 14 and we slept together . It was my first time and she was 16 . I remember her calling her friend and telling her I did not know what was doing. That was the last time I saw her . Then I got to start knowing my neighbors and met a kid named Anthony Bonjovi , Yes John Bonjovis younger brother . He was a real character . I also remember hearing Run Away for the first time at his house on a 45 record before it ever was on the radio . I was not really into his music though . Then John became famous and I lost touch with Anthony . I had the same girlfriend all through High School . Then she broke up with me after we graduated . That really killed.me . We did it every day too . Oh well I moved on Then there was the Skate rink in South Amboy where we would pick up girls and party in the woods . Some times bon fires under the Parkway Bridge I was getting served at the liquor store at 17.because I had a mustache .. I remember 1 summer my uncle went on vacation and I had to watch his house . He had a built in pool so one day I was hanging at the park with 8 girls smoking weed and I asked if they wanted to go swimming . We all packed in my 72 Nova and went to my uncle's . The girls brought no bathing suits so they all swam in just there panties lol I was in heaven . Latter on In 88 I met my wife . She was 17 I was 20 . And got her pregnant ..we kept it a secret until she started showing that summer . Then before she had my first child I agreed to pay child support before he was born Incase we broke up.. My first son was born November 88 and I stared playing support and we where still going out for the first 2 years we lived at our parents house then in 91 we moved in together and in 92 got married . And over the years s had 2 more children

Discordo.

Slept in the car, hung out in the Twin Cities and returned Sunday afternoon. Probably would have gotten away with it except I didn't notice there was a slight dent on the car, and Grandma wrote the mileage down just 3 days prior for insurance purposes. However, after bad boy knocks her up and leaves her with his kids she will have the nerve to try to bring his scraps to the nice guy, and expect him to take care of her and bad boy's kids, but nice does not mean stupid. I did my best, but I guess my best wasn't good enough 'Cause here we are back where we were before Seems nothing ever changes We're back to being strangers Wondering if we ought to stay or head on out the door Just once Can't we figure out what we keep doing wrong? Why we never last for very long? What are we doing wrong? Just once Can't we find a way to finally make it right? To make the magic last for more than just one night? If we could just get to it I know we could break through it Oh I gave my all But I think my all may have been too much 'Cause lord knows we're not getting anywhere Seems we're always blowing Whatever we've got going And it seems at times with all we've got We haven't got a prayer Just once Can't we figure out what we keep doing wrong Why the good times never last for long Where are we going wrong Just once Can't we find a way to finally make it right To make the magic last for more than just one night I know we could break through it If we could just get to it Just once, I want to understand Why it always comes back to goodbye Why can't we get ourselves in hand And admit to one another We're no good without each other Take the best and make it better Find a way to stay together Just once Can't we find a way to finally make it right, oh? best reality movie I've seen, not a comedy and far flung from romance. all I saw was one guy truly in love, was the pawn of an evil bitch in heat. she in tern was semi-in-love/lust with his bf. and BF was just simply looking to plow some easy girls including a french chick. ooh la la! so as a rom com...its the worst as it fails to be anything funny about it at all. its all sad reality. Gary is a sad pathetic sack. French Whore got what she deserved and went back for more. Only one who truly won at all was Gary's BF who got to fuck the French Whore, not pay for or face the consequences of his actions or pay for the abortion and get to fuck the French Whore again while throwing it in the face of his supposed best friend Gary. Gary is a tool as he lets himself get used left, right and sideways by everyone around him. If he had any true respect for himself he would have take a bat and beat his best friend's balls til there was nothing left and demanded all the money that leech ever took from him or for all the free rides in his car he gave him to school and wherever his BF asked him to take him. Then he should have taken whatever money he got, bought a decent hair cut and outfit, lots of expensive alcohol and drugs...gone to his BF's house...ducktape his arse up and hang him in the closet where he can watch as you fuck the french whore and her best friend and whatever other girls he gets over to this private party. Gary then should piss and shit all over the house marking his territory and then go back to piss into a cup and raise it to his BF's health and then dump it over his head and say he will be back in the morning to let him go. Next morning early at school you take the Polaroids of the naked slutty girls and glue them to the lockers, you take both your BF and the school whore's underwear and run them up the school flagpole. You then leave your BF ducttaped to said pole and warn him that if he tells anyone it was him that the pictures of the school's gay guy giving him a bj will be the next thing seen glued to everyone's locker door the next day. That is how you deal with dipshits and whores who want to use you. That is how you go from being a betamale to being the fuckin alpha! lol
