this 3e car i drove with the m113 K engine
the famous 5.4 v8 kompressor.
what a beautiful power house
500Hp and 700NM it is just perfect. the power delivery is very nice
and the sound is just great. the cl55 is 1875kg empty and still wil do 0-100 in 4.6 sec. what is very fast for a car of this size and only rear wheel drive. i see this car more as a s-class coupe
the dashboard and interior is like the same as an s-class w220.
als the coupe is pillar less so when you open the front and rear window in is complete open. also very nice.
still there is enough room in the back and you have a very big trunk.
so it is also a car that can be used daily.
The cl is standard delivered with the ABC hydraulic suspension that is controlling bodyroll and ride comfort in the car and with a push on the button you can change the driving character of the car.
Also this car is connected to a 5 speed 722.6 automatic that has 3 modes Comfort, Sport and Manual. that in combination with the suspension will change the car from a normall cruiser to a manual sportscar.
don't forget that the first 2 years of the w215 the car had a NA v8 with 360 hp so from 2003 -2006 the kompressor engine was avalible. so when shopping for a cl55 have a look what you buy and my opinion is that there is only 1 cl55 AMG and that is with the kompressor engine

One of my all time favourites Big Merc Coupes. Those 99- 06 coupes are a beautiful elegant shape. And that glorious 55 kompressor V8 is awesome! Love it. I’d have one anytime. Great review, like your channel.

Awsome car, I got a chance to drive it. Its so powerful engine with 500hp. The real German Muscle car, elegant, beatuful and sport package in same car. One of my favorite cars ever.

It's a fabulous car the CL 55 K. Ended up with one after looking for, and failing to find, a mint CLS 55. Couldn't be more happy. It's a car for gentlemen, and as said, if you do some of the stuff - changing the ABC's oil is easy - very reliable. Just be ware for short-time owners (normally not much money to invest on maintenance) and crashed cars. The front bumper and inside look of the A- and C-pillars on this particular example suggest it was crashed before.

I really love these cars and have a 2003 CL 55 AMG. As long as these cars are maintained correctly, there is no reason a person can not get 500,000 miles from them as AMG expects. I just had to add some to my comments. My silver exterior car has the same blue interior that your beautiful white car has. These cars are so comfortable to drive; the heated or cooled seats add a lot to the comfort. Taking long trips on these cars is a perfect use of them. One thing I have learned is that while these are indeed heavy cars, on a track they will embarass many lighter cars such as their cousins, the CLK 55, which is a lighter car but is not a Kompressor. I had the factory 155 mph limiter removed, and the car will, in fact, make very nearly 200 mph. Not quite, but very close. I, personally, have not driven the car on regular streets and tried to drive that fast; however, on a race track, I have hit 187 mph, according to the digital speedometer. Whether the digital speedometer is accurate enough to trust, I can not say for certain, except it certainly seemed very close to the 187 mph the digital speedometer stated. I truly love these cars. They handle it very well. The power is very nice, and while so many people extol the American muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s, I much prefer this German muscle car. The refinement, handling, and comfort of these 5.4 litre, V-8 engine cars are simply delightful. I would never want to drive another car. These are the very nicest cars I have ever had the pleasure of owning, and in fact I'm looking for one more of these so that I can turn one off these into a race car and keep one fire my wife and to drive. @ITZ JDUB I stick with the recommended Mercedes-Benz standard maintenance from a Mercedes-Benz-approved mechanic. Don't deviate. I won't repeat that, you are an intelligent individual, you understand. I am certain that the maintenance schedule is online, look it up and understand that you will need to follow it to the letter. ITZ, if the idea of such a schedule bothers you, purchase a different vehicle, perhaps a Toyota? LMAO!

Hey bro, Love the vids. I have a 2003 cl55, i think i might as well change the abc system. Would you recommend just changing the pump only or complete aftermarket suspension? If so, what would you suggest is pretty solid? Thanks

There are 2 video's.on the smokin tire KZfaq channel about a CL with air suspension and CL with the oem ABC suspension and the outcome was that the driveability with the oem abc was much better so. I would leave the oem system but do maintain IT

hello, I have a question; my car is a 2001 model CL55 AMG atmospheric.. you know, a second-hand original supercharger (compressor) is being sold, would you recommend that I buy it anyway and install it in my car? Or do I have adjustment problems? Your answer will be different for me because you are doing great things. thank you from now on

I think it will work but the biggest issue will be to get the engine knock resistance because as far as i can remember is a 55 na engine 10.5:1 or 11:1 compression ratio. And with regular fuel will not be able to run high boost or even the oem pressure from a 55k engine. If you use e85 it would be perfect. But on regular pump fuel you will have issue . I think already when going above 0.5 bar maybe earlier

Issue with my 2005 Mercedes Benz CL55 AMG rear headrest...the button on the dash in the Command Center or on the back seat console between the window switch will not raise the rear headrest up. Both buttons will only release the headrest. How can I resolve this issue?

The powered headrests were an optional extra. Not all cars have them. My button only lowers them too because thats all its meant to do. Having said that, I only have the dashboard button, not the one on the rear seat console so maybe your car does have the powered headrests.

hard to say. depends on where you do the maintenance and how well the car is maintainted in the past. also mileage is a thing. merc dealer or local specialist. or hobby garage. all depends. but try to get a well looked after one better spend a few $k more for a low milage good one if your not the guy that is going to maintain it yourself.

In the US these cars are known as "hardtops." Yeah, it's a little counter-intuitive. The name was likely the invention of some advertising guy. The idea was that the car had no "B" pillar and somehow, therefore. resembled a convertible. The antithesis of the convertible top was the -- you guessed it -- "hardtop." While we're being US-centric, and your English just shames those of us who only have that one language, you might convert some of your numbers into units the real English -- as in UK English-- have long abandoned. I'm referring, of course, to cubic inches, pounds-feet, and the like. One of the rewards, for your US viewers, is that we could see what we would regard as a "small" block engine can, nevertheless, produce absolutely prodigious amounts of torque and, even, horsepower. To digress, in your Benz project, have you thought about boring out the M120 -- also an "overbuilt" engine. How about 8 litres? oh, sorry, maybe 500 cubic inches? or 600 or whatever? Turbos? Let us see you find the space! Whooo-hooo. Sorry, may have gotten a little over-enthusiastic.

Thanks , Yes the engine can be bored but to 8 ltr that is to much i think . AMG had build this engine to max 7.3 ltr that is also stroked And bored out. I through Brabus had build a 7.4ltr. But the internals of the engine as a 6.0ltr are really strong. I thought about turbocharging but there is no Room for this . I will have around 425hp And 620 nm . That are good Numbers for a car that will have 1350kg weight i think. bigger m120 engine is Nice but it is very expensive. So i will keep the oem 6.0 ltr. Yes can be An option but the crank Shaft are very hard to Find . And if You Find IT IT is really expensive
