Sorry you’ve had negative comments. I’ve seen your videos on and off for years and think you’ve often articulated reasons why I don’t like or like a watch. So you’ve helped me understand my own tastes better. For example I still think about selling my one good watch- Explorer 39mm, for the same reasons you did. So thanks for the vids I enjoy them.

I sometimes wish I still had the Explorer. It’s still my favorite dial in some ways. I wish they would just let me design the rest of the watch haha.

I don’t understand how anyone could leave a negative comment about a man wearing such a beautiful hat! I would pick up a Seiko Turtle for a $500 special achievement watch. They are a bit large but love their designs.

To paraphrase a well known British gentleman, I thought the Helium escape valve on the 300m was "a carbuncle on the face of an old friend" until I actually tried one on. Now it's one of my favourite watches.😎

Thanks for answering my question. We were thinking along similar lines and I'll be getting the Seiko SSK003 next pay cheque. In a few months for a similar milestone I'll be getting the Tissot PRX. If you're wondering, the milestones I'm referring to are tier 1 and tier 2 partnership on KZfaq.

@@JustBlueFish No problem and thank you! If I ever think of more good questions I'll ask them. Actually I kind of thought of one just now. Since affordable GMTs are now a thing, what do you think the next complication to trickle down into the affordable (mechanical) space will be? I have a feeling it'll be chronographs and I wouldn't be surprised if Seiko reissues the Pogue as that next flagship in the entry level.

Trolls just hate. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but why leave ignorant comments. It shows your personality. I have 11 watches. All are different. I do own 3 divers with different color ways and 2 GMT’s. The rest are dress and field. Materials and dial colors make me own this variety of watches.

A great video Guy with some perfect responses to the comments. Your point on the "lower tier" watches was well made. Ultimately we should purchase what we like and not what others think. Sure it's nice to get input but when it's time to spend that hard earned cash only one who makes that final decision. Oh and I'm also a fan of the Omega SM300M, it's recognisable from some distance away and is certainly a conversation starter. Thanks for sharing.

I’d check the Uncle Seiko’s website and Strapcode website those are some of the best aftermarket bracelet brands I’ve seen.

Hi Guy. Another great one. Was wondering if you could help. Looking for a good daily watch sub £2000 (I've owned Omegas,IWC, but just want something practical and not crazy expensive now). Between these two. Sinn 556i, and Longines Spirit 37mm black or silver dial What would be your pick? Thank you P.s. I do realise that they're very different in style. For context, I've owned an IWC mark xvi, a Speedy, black dial first generation Aqua Terra, a silver dial Seiko and Omega both from the 1970s, and I used to want a silver Datejust 36mm... so my taste has gone from tool to dressy and everything in between including Casio W59, G shock 5600e, Hamilton pilot pioneer and Khaki Auto 38mm

One of the major reasons why I have not started my KZfaq channel yet is because I know I would argue with trolls. I have deep anger and resentment issues that might not be good to have for a public persona. Great Q&A video! Keep up the good content, man.

Two major things to consider... collections are about "wants," not "needs." Second, inanimate objects do not have the power to make you "feel" anything. In fact, not even people can control how you feel. If someone or something "makes" you feel anything, one way or the other, then you have given away your power and no longer need to take responsibility for yourself. At that point you can always blame others for your state of being.

@@JustBlueFish I had a feeling you'd say that. :)) To be honest, with the widespread use of cell phones and computers, there is no need for a watch at all. It also sounds rather pompous when one makes a pronouncement over what others "need" and how many items will satisfy that need. An argument can be made that collecting, based on the "need" perspective, regardless of the item, is an elevated form of addiction. For me, it's an enjoyable waste of time and money. :))

@@InGratitudeIam need and want are generally words used interchangeably that in context both mean ‘want’, but because of how language works and a person’s propensity to engage in hyperbole the words are used in place of one another. But yeah, that should be obvious.
