We continue the road through Asturian lands leaving behind the area of ​​the Basilica of Covadonga, to then make the mythical Ascent to the Lakes of Covadonga, where we run into numerous cyclists, since it is considered a mythical climb for all lovers of the sport of the two wheels.
We can also observe how cattle, mostly cows and sheep, circulate freely through their usual grazing area, used to seeing adventurers like us pass by, a real pleasure to run into these fellow travelers who give the excursion an invaluable natural touch.
The Lakes of Covadonga, called Enol and La Ercina, are located 10 kilometers from the town that gives them their name.They are of glacial origin, they are found in the Western Massif or the Cornión, within the Picos de Europa, they are reached by road and they are the starting point of many hiking and mountaineering routes.
They are also famous because their ascent constitutes one of the hardest stages of the Vuelta Ciclista a España.
