In recent years we have a growing concern about “social justice.” What is meant by that phrase, however, varies widely among those who use and promote it. What is too often missing-even in the calls for “social justice” coming from Christian leaders-is a clear understanding of biblical justice. Justice exists because God is just and righteous. He is the One who defines justice and He has revealed what true justice is in the Bible. This message helps define biblical justice by looking at what God requires of people as set forth in Micah 6:8. For more resources on these topics, you can visit www.founders.org
This presentation was given by Dr. Tom Ascol on January 3, 2019 at the Southeast Founders "Do Justice, Love Kindness, Walk Humbly" regional conference in Cape Coral, Florida.

I hear a lot of "we are against". When I read the Bible I hear "I am for..." Sometimes I wonder if or what Bible some people read...

God did not tell Deborah to be quiet. Can you press expand on Judges 4 and 5.

Indeed we must love justice and mercy. We must also remember forgives of sins as Christ died for this very reason and showed us how to love others in his sermon on the mountain. Matthew 5:39. We are not bound to the old law. We are guided by the Holy Spirit. On the example of women and the navy seals meeting requirements.. You are right. The men in the book of Judges were too scared to lead their people. So they worked together with Deborah to fight the Canaanites. And a simple woman with no warrior skills brought down their king at the request of Deborah. Yes. Somethings are best left to the women. Judges 4 and 5. Mary, Jesus’ mother faced a mob after accepting a pregnancy without being married which was taboo in her time. Lois, Eunice and Hannah raised godly men who changed the course of history with their teachings. 2 Timothy 1:5. We must not underestimates those we think weak in physical strength but are able to use their mind. Biblical justice is shown through the Bible in the old and new restatement. Not just in Micah 6:8.

I have a question regarding the statement, where is says that basically a group/ race of people doesn't need to pay for the sins of those in the past in terms of social justice; how does that contrast then to that everyone fell in Adam and we are in a sense "paying" because of that? In the least, we are born into it and live in a fallen world, though Christ has redeemed us.

krayolaBlue91, while in Adam all have sinned (Romans 5:12), everyone must be accountable for their own sins before God if they don't repent and believe. This is the reason sinful man is condemned already if he doesn't trust Christ (John 3:19-19). But to ascribe the sins of the fathers or even the great or great great grandfathers if the person themselves haven't committed that sin is not right. It's like saying the grandson of a rapist must repent repeatedly of the sin of rape, though he never committed it. It's incorrect to ascribe the sin of racism on anyone due to their skin tone or upbringing if they've never done that particular sin to the person complaining about it. In the Old Testament, God;s people are told in Deuteronomy 24:16, "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin." If a person does the same sins as his father or grandfather, then he is accountable still for those sins. (And there are some sins that are promoted then passed on in families, but unless it is specific, we can't be vague and assume the sin is there based on the person's skin tone, social status, or family background). You also see the application of Deuteronomy 24:19 in 2 Kings 14:5-6, when the king killed the servants who murdered his father, but didn't punish the children of the murderers because this was not their sin. This spiritual truth still holds today.

What group or race are we paying in that sense? The human race?
