After global passionate fan calls to action and the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement, HBO Max and Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that it will exclusively world premiere Zack Snyder's director's cut of the Warner Bros. Pictures/DC feature film Justice League in 2021. Snyder surprised fans with the news this morning during a live online commentary of his film Man of Steel with Henry Cavill.
#ReleaseTheSnyderCut first became a passionate rallying social media cry among fans in 2017 and has not let up. From countless press articles and hundreds of thousands of social media mentions, it became a powerful global movement among cinephiles and comic book fans.

I mean I am DC fan (particularly the comics and cartoon, not so much the movies) but I really think there should be focus on new content and movies instead of now placing so many resources into re-editing a movie from 3 years ago. I see many people hyped here, but I personally would prefer to see more focus on new projects such as new Dark Knight Trilogy and Watchmen instead.

mrk 762 basically Zack was making his version of justice league but his daughter unfortunately passed away and he obviously had to leave the film So dc hired joss whedon the director of avengers 2012 and made his own version by refilming and cutting a lot of the movie. Fans have been begging to see zacks version because justice league was really bad and know after over 2 years we’re finally seeing Zack’s 3 1/2 hour cut

That's fair, but I've seen Zac's Work. It was my 1st real experience with Superman and Batman, he makes them come across like douchebags. It wasn't until I saw the animated series and read some comics I realized how wrong he got the characters.

@@WannabeWryter not all interpretations need to be like the comics. He tried something different (which was cool tbh) because the previous interpretations on film already used the versions of characters from the comics. It would be like watching those characters again. But what I saw is Zacks Superman is taken from Superman New 52 comics, and also Batman from The Dark Knight Returns and Lex Luthor from Superman: Birthright.

@@ruturajghodke3877 I didn't think Zac Snyder's portrayals were cool at all, they were too unrelatable (to each his own). Also I feel its worth mentioning that New 52 superman was so disliked by comic book audiences that they killed him off and replaced him with the pre new 52 Superman from the previous timeline along we with lois and a 10 year old son. Fans prefer it when Superman is filled with hope, smiles and acts like an actual person.

@@WannabeWryter As far as I know , Zack had a Superman arc where after he resurrects ,turns to the superman we know. Plus all previous films had the same kind of superman and tbh no one wanted a one dimensional Superman after Superman Returns. Don't worry suoerman will become Superman like the last scene in Josstice League where Bruce helps with Clark's house we see a much brighter Superman (it was Snyder scene) so let's see what Snyder does with his story :) anyway I respect your opinion ;)

@@augere80 Basically JL that came few years ago had some major re-shoots, a lot was cut out/changed. Snyder stated that we saw approx. 1/4 of his version. His movie will be over 4 hours long, so that means what we saw in 2017 JL is approx 1 hour of Zack's work, rest is Joss Whedon. So yeah, it will be different and far better movie.

Hmmm forget about the "long story short" lol.

@@kaisersaucy6503 do some research before talking. cut existed, and that's what snyder showed to WB executives. No one said it's 100% completed . Every fan who was in touch with snyder knew that post production works were yet to be complete (eg:-vfx parts) because he showed us those parts in Vero, and that's why WB offering money. If ur saying it was just an assembly cut, zack told that his assembly cut have over 5hrs of footage. But this is the final cut of all those footages which is around 4hrs. It's releasing in next year because they have to work under this COVID situation as well as Zack wants to give his best in completing his vision. Making a movie takes around 3,4 yrs of planning. So taking 1yr to complete this makes sense if u use your tiny brain, no offense

I'm hoping they will release it to BluRay if it does well? It's the kind of thing comic book and film geeks (like myself) will eat up... Especially, if it turns out to be episodic and not just one long movie like some rumors have been stating. An official BluRay means we can watch it "uncut", the way it's meant to be seen (if the episodes are a real thing). It will also make WB even more money than just bolstering HBO subscriptions and licensing rights with DC Comics for the upcoming Green Lantern show that will also be on HBO Max.

I love how home-y and nostalgic Henry Cavill's room feels. I mean just look at those mad scuffs on the wooden drawers behind him 0:14. They look like the kind of scuffs I had on my drawers when I was still in high school.
