He's still one of the best male artists of our time despite his use of auto-tune. He doesn't need it, it's just a precaution he has to take so that he doesn't damage his vocals. It's the only way of helping him achieve longevity for his voice. He doesn't want to end up like Mariah Carey, years of singing damaged her voice sadly.
