I lost my mom and ghost is hard to relate to it because it seems like a love/break up song. He talks about a memory being ecstasy and missing a touch on nights when he's hallow. Then some is relatable to a passed loved one like a parent or grand parent. I'm betting it's just a general song about missing someone, Selena included.

I just heard the song for the first time few minutes ago. It is a beautiful, sad yet inspiring song that can be interpreted in so many ways, depending who’s interpreting. In my case, It is clear like the daylight in Norwegian’s late summer that the choice of words were carefully chosed to fit the memory, the feelings, when one loses someone that was loved and cherised and still is. It is a sincere way of expressing real thoughts and feelings. Firstly it strikes ones mind that it is unmistakably a song from the heart to Selena. Yearning and longing, emotional, yet it does not need to end on one specific relation. As Justin is capable of loving two wonen all at the same time. Each of them has a special place in his heart. And if Justin has to decide or to choose, he would love to settle for both, to have his wife and Selena at the same time as weird it may sound for many. He will always love Selena, come what may, while making his way towards making a good life with his wife which is naturally expected of him as a responsible husband he aimed to be. Honestly this thought slipped my mind too at first...but as i thought about it there are few resons this could not be a song about Selena. First of all have you listened to other songs on the album? He loves and adores Hailey and he shows it through his music, he would be contradicting himslef if the song really was about Selena. Secong, as we all know Justin spends a lot of time with his wife, and he takes her to studio too, now imagine showing his album to his wife and explaining "well this song here is about my ex and yeah i wrote "I'll settle for the ghost of you" but u don't need to worry at all" or smth like that, just imagine this situation. Justin is a happily maried man, why would he write a song like that about his ex... and Third, he said himself he wants to use his music to provide peace and comfort to those who listen to it so it would only make sense for this song to be a sort of tribute to the loved ones we lost especially during this pandemic...
