Justin Chon revisits the LA Riots in film "GOOK"

Justin Chon wrote, directed and stars in a passion project film called “GOOK." The film is a heartfelt exploration of families and relationships between Korean and African American communities set during the Los Angeles Riots.

Toby Chan Why does the Asians keep flocking to California?? It is a racist state and treated the Asians bad historically and now too. They should go north or Canada where they would be treated far more humane

This was an unfortunate event in our American history. With recent shows such as The O.J. Simpson television show, I'm glad people are tackling these topics because it's important for our youth to remember these events and see how far we've come as a collective. Even if it ends up being a drama about relationships like the filmmaker here says, it starts a conversation and is a good way to teach people about American history, good or bad.

His message in the end of this video is very powerful. Independent artists need support from us as viewers just as much. Hope everyone can take the time to check this out all the way through. Excited for this film's release.

Yes. First saw him in Twilight. Then recently my friend told me to watch Drama World. Glad he is still around making good work.

I was so into the story while I was watching the movie and almost forgot that they were actors lol i had to keep reminding myself this is not a real-time footage lol all the casts were so talented and awesome, my favorite is the Mr.Kim he was so on point describing the typical rude racist old Korean but at the same time himself also has a back story to share from his perspective and personal experience probably only can be understood among the other first generations who don't know better about living in a multicultural society. This is definitely a must watch!
