I stumbled across your videos searching German Baptist and saw your last name Flory then this couple Flora in this beautiful video. My grandmother was a Flory from Lancaster County where Joseph Flory emigrated from Germany and from here, his descendants, many went into the German Baptist church, ministers etc. Joseph was the largest progenitor of Florys in American. So I'm sure I have many long distance cousins in the German Baptist Church. Beautiful work! Florys are creative, hardworking and of deep faith and have a rich spiritual heritage!

Beautiful wedding!! Did the bride sew her dress? I’m sewing mine for my wedding in May and it’s hard to even find modest wedding dress patterns! In any case, God bless them!

Someone could explain to me why girls cover their heads only with this kind of cover, why dresses of the 19th century, early 20th ?. Why do women wear this form of clothing? There are other modest modern clothes. What's the point in this dress code? Muslim women also have their own dress code. Was this what Jesus wanted when He taught not to be a temptation, did He mean certain patterns of dresses and hats? Sorry, this is more like another religion, like the nuns in the Catholic Church, they have their dress code too. But Jesus never taught this. Some people think that where humility is, there is truth and there is the Lord, but this is not so. In my big city there are no such women, and if I wear a cap and such a dress, I will attract the attention of all people around me, but is this my goal, to be in the spotlight? If I dress like that, I won't be hired. What is the point of these clothes for me? Someone can explain, these questions are not only for me.

I’m not entirely sure, but I’d say this couple is probably Anabaptists of some kind (Mennonite maybe? Since I don’t think Amish really have their pictures taken) And while they have a dress code, they think the plainness is beautiful. I think you’re mistaken when you say that Jesus didn’t have certain requirements of dress, although I agree that the Bible obviously doesn’t specify particular clothes. Head coverings are traditional for a lot of religions. I can’t remember the passage exactly, but Saint Paul does have a verse about women covering their heads during prayer. I’m a Latin Mass Catholic and we only cover our heads in church (we have veils instead of caps) and although there isn’t any precise requirements except general modesty in my church, I think it’s refreshing and pretty to wear turn of the last century styles. I’ve never noticed I receive any nasty attention for it. But I also have friends who are just as modest but more modern. I’d say adhere to whatever is modest and people will respect you for it, certainly I don’t think it would cause you not to be hired somewhere. I hope that was helpful! God bless!

New Conference Old German Baptist Brethren. This is a formerly traditional, conservative group going through a great transition. The Creation Order and head covering is addressed in 1 Cor. 11.
