Fun Fact, never redip your cotton swab/brush/applicator back into the bottle of your brass black or blueing chemical. It will ruin the rest of the bottle and reduce it's strength significantly over time. Best to pour out a tiny bit into another dish then dip into that and dispose of any extra

This is such a cool use case for small batch or one-off coins! A couple questions, if you don't mind? 1. For a one-off coin such as this in the video, if you were to sell it, what would your estimated price be? 2. Would you consider doing similar customer jobs for custom one-off coins, similar to this? 3. I saw mention in your videos and descriptions that you have an Etsy store, but couldn't readily find a link to it. Would you mind sharing the link here? Thanks!

You can also get a 130 dollar data laser engraver for wood coins, If you don't wanna spend 500 on a fibre laser but still wanna practice, and wooden coins are cheaper to make and still fun and some people prefer wood. They also make laser toolhead kits for ender3 so I'm keeping mine around for that. Also I bought a 160 dollar cnc from Walmart but you have to assemble i haven't done yet but reviews are good, so you can drill a coin that maybe won't look ad clean unless you calibrate...but yeah I also like 0.2mm nozzle 3d printing special materials but I really enjoy my 120 dollar data laser engraving wooden coins too it's a great way to practice this cheaper...or build your own laser engraver for like $25 since it's basically a printer with an old laser you can find and hookup, there's a lot of cheap laser engravers out there that can engrave in wood and plastic and acrylic which is also fun to engrave acrylic coins but wood is the best way to start I think just getting cheapest laser engraver

I have a question: I was thinking about buying an xtool f1 ultra and I know it’s valuable because of its features. However, I saw machines (like from omtech) which is the same price but with a high wattage laser. (50W is like the price of the xtool f1).. which one is more worth buying?
@ThraX_86
@ThraX_86 Ай бұрын
Having used various lasers (Trotec, Universal, Epilog) for over a decade, I've also owned an Omtech (AF2820-60w) for about a year now and use it for our business. The machine itself is okay for your typical cheap Chinese model, but the customer service is horrible. If you are just using it for hobby stuff, then I would say an Omtech is fine. I would steer clear if you are trying to use it to start a business. Look at Thunder Laser; they are also Chinese-made, but customer support is better, and you can actually understand who you are speaking to. Their customer support is based in Texas. I looked at switching to Thunder because of this but haven't because our business requires heavyweight to be engraved 0-130 pounds in the machine, so I may be forced to upgrade to AP Laser and their open platforms. Hope this helps.

If you are just looking for a fiber laser to do metal things like I did in this video I would suggest going with as high wattage fiber laser as you can afford. The F1 Ultra is good for a versatility of materials but isnt the best choice if you want to specialize in metal exclusively.
