When a low-class Saiyan warrior named Bardock unexpectedly inherits the ability to see into the future, his life takes a dramatic turn for the worse. Haunted by visions of his own end as well as the destruction of his entire homeworld: "Planet Vegeta", Bardock sets off on a nightmarish race with fate to avert the impending disaster. However, the Saiyan seems to stumble in a maze of hopelessness alone as his closest friends were killed by Frieza, who feared the combined strength of Bardock and his people. When Bardock sees a vision of his son, Kakarrot, as a grown man, It inspires him to make a change and confront his destiny head on! This is the story of Bardock, the father of Goku!

@@johnnyd3158 he says it because Bardock is just that guy. He is canon in the mainline story anyway and confirmed by Akira Toriyama himself. He’s a strong warrior who has no bounds and will fight to protect them, well he tried so that is all.

@@rengokukyojuro8822 Well, Toriyama’s version of Bardock is canon, since he expressed that he wished he could have created characters like Bardock and Broly previously, as he at least got his wish by developing his own versions of the aforementioned characters.

Brilliant story I love it so much. Burdock was not a good person but for the last moments of his life he was selfless. I love the OG special of him so much and I feel the opposite for the DBS version which was to me horrible. At least Burdock can be proud of his son Kakarrot, one of the strongest Saiyans in the universe. Even in GT at least in the English version, I remember Nouva Shenlong giving credit to Kakarrot and Bejita as the two most powerful Saiyans in existence.

I don't understand why toriyama decided to retcon this with dragon ball minus lol. I think this is fascinating tale about bardock's life though 1 thing I like about the minus version of bardock is the introduction of goku's mother & how those two are loving parents to goku 🤷♂ Now we have 2 versions of bardock with the minus version being the new canon going forward huh?
