It's pretty cool that 99% of the homeless people Knate encounters choose a hug over a handshake. These people really need the emotional lift that a hug provides.

I'm a social worker in California. There's so many programs people don't know about. There's even DMV vouchers for a free ID for the homeless. In my county, a homeless person gets $291 a month in food alone. Please remind them to reach out to the county for help.

I will be praying he gets his place . I can tell you he takes care of that beautiful dog before he does anything for himself, and she looked to be in good shape but with a little limp it seems. As for food your correct it's better to feed what they have been eating. But if not just a better grade food with low suger/salt and no raw hide treats, lol. I buy big bags of dog food and separate it out into large zip lock bags as they can't carry much or anything to heavy and keep a couple pull top can dog food in my car so they can take a couple cans until next round.

you actually want to actively avoid steal toe boots for any sort of cold weather, the steal will get cold from the elements and actually make your feet colder trust me lol been wearing steal toes for work in cold conditions for a long time and dang do they get and stay freezing cold

So many walk past the homeless and ignore them.... don't forget, one day it could be you! No one is immune when it comes to losing everything! My Goodness. It is hard to believe that beautiful boy is a street dog. His wieght is perfect, his coat is shiny it's obvious his needs have been met. I notice the homless dogs I have experienced seem well mannered and relaxed. I think their so content because a dog is always happiest with their people. ❤

I would definitely recommend getting the dogs the same food that they are used to. I recently started fostering a dog and when I picked it up they gave me different food than it was used to eating. Those first two days were not the best. Not because the dog wasn't amazing but because she had an exorbitant amount of gas. Thankfully it cleared up quickly when she got used to her new food.

Merrick is a good brand. Cans of soft food are good because cats and dogs never get enough fluids. Whatever you buy for them is awesome.

Best dog food? Anything high in fat and protein that has a meat as its first one or two ingredients. Stay away from grain overload and fillers. Purina is reasonable with meat being the dominant ingredient

As someone who works with dogs every single day, A FED DOG IS BEST! just being able to consistently keep up with feeding them is the best you can do. Keep the food as consistent as you can and you’ll be in business.

Nate, I just stumbled on you and I’m so glad I did. You are fantastic. Your heart I felt. I was homeless and was forced to drop out at the age of 12. I was homeless until 21. I was fortunate enough to fall into the IT field as the internet was becoming a thing and degrees didn’t mean anything. It was knowledge. Because of getting a hand up, this 8th grade drop out ended up being a programmer for Microsoft. That led to a web dev career. My body is now suffering the damage from my rough start. I was raised on a farm and doing farm work from age 6-12 while doing school. The city shocked me I had to use napkins for sanitary products, raped on my 17th birthday. But, I survived. Because of people like you. You have to know the difference you make is life changing. I’m heartbroken on the chris video. He was a proud man and sad he was lost. It happens to those in our world. The 80’s and 90’s punk scene I found early on in my journey saved me. And I took many under my wing who still call me mom to this day. I’ve been married for 20 years now and live a grateful life. We have a beautiful daughter who graduated with honors. Meant the world to me to see her walk the stage and get her degree. Thank you Nate! Thank you to everyone who donates. Thank you thank thank you!!!!!!

God bless you man!! I was there several times in my life. Severe arthritis and disease has been rough, but with each video I watch I am reminded of how blessed I am to have a home again. I spent many years adrift on the streets and people like you who care and love enough to give freely is the most powerful and beautiful thing to watch. We never forget those folks who help, and often times, those gifts get paid forward in some small way. Keep hope alive and know that you are doing good deeds and will surely be rewarded if you believe in God. So many elderly and disabled people lost in a country that should be doing the right things to help. Thanks for bringing some light into this world!!

If you get their normal dry dog food and get a small bag of good quality raw or freeze dried food, they can use it as a topper. This will allow their companion to live longer

It warms my heart to see how appreciative these people are for the most simple and basic things. Socks, underwear…shoes that fit. Things that you and I probably take for granted. These things make these people so happy. I love what you do Knate ❤❤

The dog food, which food you should buy, depends on what kind of dog it is and their age!!! E.g. my little Yorkie became a bit round after being spayed and elderly, so she is on Royal Canin Sterilized Mini. Earlier she was RC Weight loss something, and before that, when younger, RC Yorkshire Terrier!
