Hello there, i read all over your description but couldn't see the info about your respirator face mask. Would you please tell me which one. I started doing my basic learning but even with the fact that i use the oven outside and it's usually blowing some wind, i still feel like i've been having health issues due to the fumes. Please let me know.
@JustMightDIY

Thanks for watching and for your question! We're sorry it wasn't originally in the description, but it's there now. If you want what we have, you need to buy two things - the face piece and then the cartridges. There's not a lot of research out there on what kind of respirator to use if you're sensitive to sublimation fumes, but one that protects against Organic Vapors, Acid Gases and Particulates is what we decided on. We're happy with these but always recommend people do additional research to ensure their own safety. :)

You two should try your hand a pad presses. Much safer to use for things like this. A viable startup business for decorating all manner of oddly shaped objects usually for promotions and marketing. I believe there are digital pad printers as well. I'd never have thought of using an oven for this type of work. Cool video.

Can you explain more about this pad press?
@IraQNid
@IraQNid 2 жыл бұрын
@@meladenegallant8533 Using KZfaq you can find the information about how these machines work. There are two types: Manual and Automatic. They're sort of like screen printers in that each pad is inked with one specific color and shape. They differ in operation though by how the ink is applied to each foam or silicone pad. The pads look like they are mounted to a drill press type of plunging mechanism. They are used to imprint coins, golf balls, glassware, cups, steins, mugs, baseball bats, eggs, pens and pencils, awards, and just about any oddly shaped object that traditional printing or heat transfer methods are poorly suited for. If you're looking for models that are specific to your country then include that in your search, otherwise you may end up seeing machines used or made in places like India, Communist China, etc where safety and efficiency are not as important or regulated.

Finally!!!! Someone uses photoshop!!!!! I knew I loved yall! I just started sublimation and did my first two tumblers. The colors are pretty and everyone I shows loves them and doesn't see anything wrong BUT I see the template on my computer and it's a lot more vivid and has more contrast them my tumbler...its not dull, burnt, etc. I would just like it to be colorful like your printout!! Any suggestions? Or do yall have photoshop videos for sublimation? I'm using all the standard print settings that are floating around Facebook to print. It looks like yall use the same print settings as I do too. Thanks!!! I use koala paper and printer jack ink, epson 2803

Hey! Thanks so much for watching - we’re glad you’re here! We use all of the default settings for printing, so we haven’t tweaked anything inside Photoshop. We do tend to use really bold images (usually purchased from Design Bundles or Creative Fabrica) that look like they have great saturation, so that could be part of it. We don’t have any photoshop tutorials but would recommend increasing the saturation, brightness or contrast and seeing how that works. Test press on some fabric so you don’t waste tumblers until you get it where you want it. While images will always look brighter/bolder on screen since it’s backlit, you can definitely make enhancements to get bolder presses. Hope this helps!

Hey - we only do basic graphic manipulation, so we're probably not the best to advise on which program you should use, as your use cases appear to be varied. Adobe does have a couple of design programs (Illustrator, Photoshop) that you should check out and some people draw digitally on in iPad with Procreate. We'd recommend looking into the capabilities of all of those. :)

I'm always hearing use a convection oven to sublimate but no one mentions do we set it on toast/bake/grill/comvection/turbo. I tried my new convection oven and heat press to sublimnate dollar store frosted mugs . nothing is working. i'm getting beyond frustrated. some one help please
@JustMightDIY
@JustMightDIY 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for your question. The oven needs to be set to a convection setting (the air moving is what keeps the temp even all the way around). On ours, Turbo is a convection setting, so it’s what we use. As for why your mugs aren’t sublimating, it may be because the mugs aren’t for sublimation. You need drinkware with a special coating on it that can accept the sublimation. We’d recommend buying some true sublimation blanks and giving it another try. If you have a Michael’s near you, they should have some Cricut mugs you can get your hands on quickly. Hope this helps!

my daughter is getting into sublimating on tumblers and is having a very hard time with getting good quality ink transfer. Particularly images with alot of black or black background coming out very faded. Any Ideas or suggestions? Her seams look terrible also, if we overlap slightly or we dont overlap at all she gets a noticeable white line from top to bottom. Any help would be appreciated.
@JustMightDIY
@JustMightDIY 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! We can try to help, but it can be SO many things. Let’s start with issue of the ink transferring too light. Can you tell us the following: her printer setup (which printer and which ink), which sublimation paper she’s using, how she’s wrapping the tumblers (tape method, shrink wrap or other tumbler wrap), what kind of press or oven she’s using, and then the time and temperature? Also, which sublimation tumbler blank is she using?
@chrisholland8226
@chrisholland8226 3 жыл бұрын
@@JustMightDIY not sure the brand of tumbler. She is using A-Sub paper off Amazon, Hiipoo Ink, and epsom ET-2760 printer converted for sublimation. Shrink wraps the tumblers and is using an oyster convection oven set at 375 degrees for 4 minutes. The first few we did came out pretty good, but the last few it seems part of the image is bright and vibrant and other parts aren’t.
@JustMightDIY
@JustMightDIY 3 жыл бұрын
Okay great. First, that’s a wonderful printer setup, and we also prefer the shrink wrap method. The culprit here could be time and temp in the oven. Do you have two thermometers in the oven to double check the temp front to back in there? Ours has about a 30-40ish degree temp difference between the front and the back, so we make sure that the average is around 375 in the middle. That’s also why we turn or flip our tumblers halfway through the sub time so they can get even heating. We also sub for 6 minutes in total. And finally, make sure the oven is set to convection to keep the air moving. Give that a try and let us know how it goes.
@chrisholland8226
@chrisholland8226 3 жыл бұрын
@@JustMightDIY ok. Her oven is pretty small, we have to lay the tumblers down like you did with the large growler, but I have ordered the two thermometers you recommended in the video odd Amazon. We will try the 6 minute method with a rotation half way through.
