I had already purchased one of these Zelos Horizon GMT watches in stainless steel in the slate grey. Awesome watch. But Jody, man, you are costing me money! I hadn't bought a new watch in 17 years, until the band on my Citizen Eco-Drive GMT World-timer broke in January. I decided to buy a new watch and treat myself... then I saw another one that I liked... and then another... Then I found your channel... I am now up to 70 watches in just 5 months (yes, you read that correctly!). Thanks to your channel, I now own a Phoibos, two Spinnakers and I just got my new Helm Vanuatu. Damn it, Jody, you are killing me! :)

If it weren't so expensive- upwards of $800 (and sold out), I'd consider a steel one. Good combination of sportiness and dressiness for a watch that may cover all occasions when traveling. The 38mm look makes the diver-ish case a potentially dressier than most of its peers.

Watched this review wearing my SS/Meteorite Horizons GMT! I love the size as I'm used to wearing 34-38mm watches (7.25" wrist). I put it on an Eache grey wool strap, and it works very nicely with the meteorite dial. Punches well above its weight, and that's the impression I got from this review of the bronze too. Great video as always Jody!

Jody, I just bought a Meteorite Horizon GMT, steel case. After watching your many videos, and many videos on Zelos, I was really convinced of the quality and value. I'm still in the honeymoon phase but so far: LOVE IT. I would not have found this gem without you. If I hate it in six months, I'm blaming you too! Hahaha. Kidding.

Perfect timing for this review. I was going to pull the trigger on the METEORITE Dial this evening. I was thinking 40mm would be ok for my 7.5" wrist but knowing it wears like a 38mm just saved my $750. Now I can go for a Stowa Flieger.

I really like this watch, especially the meteorite one but it's just too small.

I took a look on their website, there is one with an Orange GMT hand. I like the size of it. I think the coloring could have been better but it's not all that bad. I keep seeing Zelos popping up with new models. This time I won't complain about the price with the movement it has it seems about right. Nice review of the watch. I can't afford anymore watches. I wish I did not like watches so much. I have too many. I really need to start to sell some off so I can buy other models.

Is the GMT hand misaligned? I know someone in the Zelos Facebook group had this problem as well...

I have the steel version in green. It’s very nice. They made a GMT that is not a converted diver in a smaller size. They are releasing a bracelet for the steel versions. I’m very interested to see it, should give more presence.

Great review! 👍 AND thanks for mentioning for anyone with an 8” inch (20cm) wrist the straps are too small.... well useless, as there simply is not enough length to buckle the watch onto your 20cm wrist. If only there was an option (from microbrand watch manufacturers) for longer straps. This strap length issue always adds extra expense to all watch purchases.

I've come to terms that Zelos doesn't, and likely never will, do it for me. Hard pass on this one.

Jody I love ya mate. First time I’ve heard a KZfaq watch review mention home/GMT/3rd time zone. So many reviews say to reset the watch but that negates the purpose of the bezel. Perhaps your moving across the globe makes you more in touch with the traveling watch mentality. “It’s not a diver” spot on!

I like the look of this piece, especially the green and bronze colour contrast. Some will hate it, but I think it looks rather nice. Agree about the warranty, though. It should definitely be 2 years.

Great video. I picked up the steel Aventurine special edition Horizons GMT. It's a bit small for my 7" wrist. but it wears nicely and the dial is absolutely stunning.

Jodi you upstaged this watch with your ministry of silly walks shirt! I still like the cleaner look of my Ergon which I bought after your review. Both watches look better on your wrist than my 7 1/2.

I'd say yet another winner from Zelos. I think it would be useful to include dial (or inner bezel) diameters in the spec overviews. I often find that the size of the dial makes it or breaks it for me, more so than the case diameter. A 30-32 mm dial is usually the sweet spot, even with a ploprof-scaled case.

I like the Blue stainless version of this watch. The blue version looks a little like a smaller Alpina. The bronze, green, yellow and red version here is to busy.

I have to say I prefer a watch that is a 42 and that's the smallest i would go. I have a Android Horizon and its a 42 but it tapers in at the dial. I dislike that it feels like a smaller watch. I have always liked Zelos great looking time pieces and value for the prices. I cant wait to get one myself. Again Thanks for the great reviews.

I got the blue stainless steel model and I only have 2 complaints about it. The first one is the bezel. The numbers need more contrast against the background. They can be hard to read, especially when they are as small as they are. Some lume would have been nice too but that is not a dealbreaker for me. The second one is that it didn't come with a steel bracelet. I know it will be available in a month or two but I should have came with the watch. Mine seems to run about two seconds fast ber day and I love the size of it. Its perfect on my wrist.

Actually, I prefer a 60 click bezel. It just feels more precise. I believe the first dive watches were 60 click. My question is, were the first GMT watches 60 click? I should know this as I am really fond of GMT watches, yet sadly, I don't.

I like the design, but I can tell the GMT hand doesn't land on the hour with the minute hand properly. I had the same issue with another GMT watch and had to send that one back. Big shame to see it here too.

Is it just me or does it look like the GMT hand doesn't line up properly with the minutes? e.g. at 12:10 the local time is 2:01 so the GMT hand should be directly between the 8 and 9 o'clock markers but it seems like it's a bit closer to the 9 o'clock

I really like the Zelos watches but never got around to buying one as the price doesn't justify it for me. I rather have a brand with history in that range. Sometimes I get tempted on their initial pricing but then they price themselves out after a certain time frame. Do people still buy this after the price increase?! And what of the people buying them solely to sell on eBay for crazy prices. Does that really work?

This ones not for me but Zelos know how to make a darn good watch. Definitely would like to add a bronze to my collection.

I'm continually impressed with Zelos' output! I think I'd get one of the stainless steel models with a sapphire bezel.

I do like the green and the design overall. But I can't help wondering if they did some additional regulating on the watch knowing it would go to Jody and he would put it on the time grapher.

I just picked one of these up with the Meteorite dial, and the movement in mine has none of the perlage or decoration that your watch, other reviewer's watches, and the pictures on Zelo's website show. It is completely plain aside from the rotor. Really disappointed as this is the most I've ever spent on a watch.

Would be nice if they had filled the bezel indices for legibility, the bicolour bezel makes the 18 kind of hard to read. Overall gorgeous watch. I love Zelos designs, they are unique(a rare thing), they offer a lot for the money as well. Unfortunately even if a good value, they are still out of my price range.

The bezel was the biggest reason I balked at this one. Legibility is questionable and the 60-click assembly makes no sense for a 24-hour scale. Most microbrand GMT watches (and many of the big brands besides) base their GMT offerings on dive watches, and as such offer a 120-click unidirectional/diver bezel. It's certainly a cost-saving shortcut, but it's understandable as a way to keep the price down. And it gets the job done. Zelos went to the trouble of incorporating a more appropriate and convenient bi-directional bezel, but then botched the job of having it actually be useful by making it 60-click rather than 24, 48, or even 120. That's a big oversight considering how well almost everything else about this watch was executed. Very frustrating, as Zelos have previously shown themselves well capable of clever engineering and design choices.

Not sure how I feel about bronze watches. Looks amazing out of the box, but the tarnish is the charming future?

The next thing for ALL watch companies to do is include integrated endlinks with rubber and leather straps. I always have to make mine. And yeah, that yellow is bad.

Hmmm... Disappointing this watch doesn't allow for half-hour offsets for the GMT... I suppose you can just keep track of UTC and make a mental calc...

Just received my bronze Horizons with the meteorite dial. Interestingly the movement does not appear to contain any of the perlage finishing noted in the video. Also left side of the case has these random splotches on the polished chamfer out of the box. Since it is my first bronze watch, I'm not sure if that is naturally occurring or due to poor finishing. Has anyone else noticed the same?

It'll be interesting to see how the rotor patinas overtime and how the world map looks 🌎

Wouldn't the 60 click bezel be able to hit every minute marker around the dial? How would it miss the odd hours then? Shouldn't it just miss half minutes that you can set with a 120 click?

How the serrations on the outside of the bezel are mis-aligned...... If you do something fancy then better make it look good and have things line up. Would drive me completely nuts. How can a manufacturer miss that?

What the actual price is?

Biggest moan and niggle (which you mentioned but not as a moan & niggle) is the 60-click bezel. Someone at Zelos didn't think that through. Also, elabore is the lowest grade available for the 2893 (still a good movement though).

Maybe I'm too conservative, but I don't like minute and hour handles on Zelos watches.

I like the size, design and colourway of this... but I cant stand bronze when it tarnishes, it just looks manky. Not tempted at 600 bucks.

I don't like the set of triangles on the dial. I'd rather it have just a single triangle at the 12. Maybe that's because I'm soo married to my daily worn SKX007. But it took me a second staring at the dial at the start of the video to figure out which way was up. The GMT triangle hand and the triangle on the bezel also add to the mix. Dive watches shouldn't be confusing to look at when looking at the time or calculating a dive. Sure it will probably never actually be used for diving but it's just the principal. And it's cool for watches to step outside of that you have to other wise all the dive watches would be indistinguishable from each other. But still for me it gets a no. Also it's a GMT not a dive watch but still. That's my complaint.

Kind of over Zelos and bronze. I got the Swordfish and flipped it. I think these microbrands are over hyped. Would love to see a review of San Martin 62 mas homage. I have smaller wrists - and this definitely isn't the GMT ive been waiting for......isn't the bronze fad over already? Flipped my last bronze early this year. And it was way better looking than this slightly off kilter design.....

What a great piece, stylish, and with GMT. But alas, it has a bronze case! I don't like the way this metal tarnishes. So this is a deal breaker for me. Great potential, spoilt by the bronze, IMHO. UPDATE: I have visited the Zelos site and this piece is available with a stainless steel case. Happy days!

these are generally nice watches and I was excited with the tease images and the eventual open sales to get one. but, when I saw it in person at Wind-Up watch fair, i have to admit I was a little underwhelmed. The size is good and it wears and looks smaller than the spec'd 40mm case size would suggest..which is good for me and my 6.875" wrist. I think cause the upper part of the case with bezel is smaller than the base.. a simliar visual effect I got with my Zelos Helmsman 2.. it's a 42mm that wears like a 40mm. But, that was the most disappointing part of the watch.. the bezel. I was interested in the cobalt blue version and the renderings make it look much more vibrant and contrast than in real life which is rather dull.. the blue is darker and muted, numbers are medium gray and bottom half is actually a light gray and not white like it looks like in website renderings. it just didn't pop and I have to say the tight space in the bezel makes them a bit too small.. at least in certain angles with the sapphire bezel make some numbers look cropped at the top.. 22, 20, 2, 4, etc are usually the ones that look "not complete". And, the non-matching 60 click bidirectional bezel is a minor annoyance you know you can never perfectly align the odd numbers exactly. I will say with this version you have here, the bezel still looks underwhelming and not contrasty enough to read well at a glance. still not quite like the website rendering as with the other. Anybody interested, expect the general tone and colors to be darker and toned down and less contrasty overall, particularly the bezel, doesn't seem to matter what the bezel insert is made of. overall, a nice new offering, but I think there are a number of details that could be improved.. maybe a horizons 2 down the line.
