In fairness to the Pagani "Cocktail time's" mineral crystal, the Actual Seiko it is based on doesn't have sapphire either...

That we let Seiko still get away with that hardlex nonsense given how common and affordable sapphire is these days is beyond me. Some people really do buy into it being more shatter resistant. So I get making a few watches with it, but they insist on making so damn many of their watches with that nonsense. (Mineral crystals might be less prone to shattering in terms of their structure, but that's basically flexibility vs hardness, on a watch face it's too thick and small in diameter for flex to come into play on a hard impact. Could come into play for something like a phone screen though.)

Seiko is one of those brands getting more expensive without offering more than they did before. Disappointing, these chinese brands are taking over if classic affordable brands don't wake up

I still use my Cadisen C1032 as a dress watch (put a leather strap on it). I ended up getting a Blue Tissot Gentlemen to "replace" it, though I still find good use for it when I want a silver dial. Still the best bang for buck watch I ever bought, especially after I regulated it to keep much better time. If you haven't pick one up, I highly recommend it.

Baltany is the best. I have the 1926 homage and it's gorgeous. I hate "homage" watches, where you pretend to be something that you are not and then have the watch which every time you look at reminds you of the sad fact. But this little gem..... nobody knows what it is. Buy the one with gold accents and be blown away.

The Cronos is a definite keeper. I bought one and an equivalent San Martin about a year ago. The San Martin went lame after about 5 months. The Cronos is still going strong and it is both comfortable and it's solid as a rock. Cronos is quickly becoming my favorite Chinese watch brand. I can't wait to put it head-to-head with the Erebus when it gets here.

I got the Guanqin in 2-tone and replaced the hands with dauphine hands. Totally elevates the look! An easy upgrade for under $10. Pair it with a nice brown leather strap for $20 and it ends up looking like a $200 watch.

I'd give an honorable mention to the Heimdallr Monster line. Excellent watches that are frankly better than the originals. And at around $150-$170 USD. Some of the colorways are also unique and complement the originals nicely.

18:43 - 20:50 I will 100% vouch for the baltany chrono and the San Martin pilot-style. Both truly fantastic watches at the $150 price point. I'd also recommend the San Martin dual bezel GMT. Great dimensions, original design, and if you can find the old design with the timing outer bezel, it's a true GADA watch.

Ohhh I got the Pagani GMT, Didn't realise when I got it that it had the NH34 movement :).. awesome video today! Don't usually like GMT's, but wanted a watch with the world time zones on the bezel for a while, and being as black and red and blue are my favourite colours and they do this in a variety of colours I had to go for the black n red, and it happens to be the one you covered too!

Brilliant Video Dr J, one of the best I have seen. I am going to watch it again tomorrow. I love the Chronos (Rolex Look alike ) ........side note I have this watch buzzing around in my head from our good friend Dave from Japan and it's the latest Vario. I have that one on a blue ostrich leg strap, it works really well and sets off that long blued second hand beautifully. I think Baltany's take on the old bubble back cases is excellent, I have two of them and want to get two more in the sale.

A great list. I just bought a Mission Impossible Casio DW-290, as the news is they're now discontinued because they're not doing electro luminesce any more...then realized you made a video about it a few years. It's a great watch by the way! Not ugly for me........and Jody, a compliment from my wife for you!! She says you look more handsome now, than you did back then. I'm hoping she won't be booking a flight from Istanbul to Sydney any time soon. 😉😜

Hruodland have a nice chronograph version of that one called the Flyback. The reason I prefer it to the Thorn is the shorter lugs, Thorn's 50mm rather flat lug to lug just doesn't look good on my 7 1/4 inch wrist. It is a bit more expensive though at around €190.

I have the pagani 'Phillipe' and its absolutely incredible. It looks amazing on wrist and I"ve had a bunch of people ask after it while I've been wearing it. For the price its easily the best value watch I have.

The “sugges revival” has disappeared, and the link leads to a similar watch from the same brand, but with another round case, not a square one. I have searched for it without success on Aliexpress. a shame.

I was actually thinking of passing on this years sale and I have only bought one San Martin quite a while ago (its still going strong btw) but having seen that San Martin SN0033 and the price, I think I may have to dip my toe in the San Martin pool one more time. Looks beautiful, would be nice with a smooth bezel as well. Thanks for another cracking video. Keep it up

I came up with 4 watches to buy yesterday, the 11th, adding the last one partly to take advantage of the highest level discount coupon. Glad I pulled the trigger yesterday because today (the 12th) the big coupon is no longer available to me. So something I don't recall hearing from any KZfaq watch types is that the real good sale is only for one day. Now things don't look nearly so attractive. Like your channel BTW.

The latest revision of the SD1970 seems to have taken a dip in quality. I got one to mod, and the dimensions were all wrong, and the finishing was not as nice compared to the one I bought last year. A bit of research on forums shows that I wasn't the only one to experience this. I got an Addiesdive Willard though that was much better. FYI

Disappointing but interesting to hear. My friend got one recently and it had white speck on the dial, not aligned bezel and very loose bracelet clasp. They make a lot of them so I though accident can happen but if other people had issues recently something must be wrong. Mine from a few years back was good.

I took advantage of the 11/11 sale and ordered Steeldive 1970 and the PD moonwatch. They both arrived today and very sad that PD sent me the wrong watch. The Steeldive is very nice for the money though. Wish I had received the correct PD.

Funny thing is I don't trust any seiko movements anymore. I've had quite a few watches with seiko movements and they're all 30 to a min off a day.... I'd rather have the chinese movements in my watches

For those who are buy 1963's for an actual usage instead of collectable item remember that ST1901 movement is not hackable. While I will not buy Pagani design watches ever again since they don't stay behind their products, but for those who do just make sure you buy watches with Seiko movements

I was hoping you were going to put the Pagani Rolex Explorer II GMT homage on the list. Bought mine last year after seeing your glowing review for $75. Still chugging along at an acceptable (to me) +9 seconds a day. Love my Suggess 1963 panda dial too.
