When Leslie Nielsen passed, ESPN published an obituary for the legendary umpire/opera singer, Enrico Pallazzo. It was surprisingly heartwarming and I think Leslie Nielsen would have loved it. Also, Leslie Nielsen was a one of a kind comedian that is missed, but not forgotten.

They used to harvest pistachio nuts by waiting for them fall off the tree and gathering them off the ground. This made the shells all stained and awful looking so they would stain them a bright red - a dye that easily wears off. Since then, they have devised a mechanical way to harvest them, a machine that grabs the trunk and shakes it so all the nuts fall off at once. And since, they are sold unstained, in their natural soft tan-brown color. (Most younger people are so far removed from the old style of pistachio nuts, they don't get the joke.)

A college roommate of mine described baseball as 10 minutes of action packed into 3 hours. As our reactors noted, the movie's pace slowed down after a strong start. The entire time spent at the ballpark did drag a bit for its joke rate, somewhat like the game itself. Yes it is funny, but not as quick and intense.

The show _Police Squad_ might be even more up your alley. Same characters (though Ed and Nordberg are played by different actors), same writers (so same humor), but smaller doses, and the jokes are more _Airplane!_ rapid fire pace. Great celebrity guest stars, too. This movie has some meta humor about the show. For instance, everything in Frank’s fridge is expired, and his freezer isn’t defrosted because _Police Squad_ ended in 1982, so he hadn’t been back to his apartment again until 1988.

When I was a child (8-9 years old), it was incomprehensible to me how a "grey-headed old man" could act in such a crazy comedy. Of course Lesslie Nielsen was a great actor and I love all his comedies. Moreover, in the 1980s and perhaps the early 1990s, these types of parodies were very popular. The entire Naked Gun series with him, Spy Hard (a parody of Die Hard), but also other films in this category, such as Hot Shots 1 and 2. I recommend watching it. Y'now... I can't believe this coincidence... I kid you not... just the other day I was watching this other reaction channel and I was just thinking, "what this channel is missing is a good ole non-stop blood draining zit removal moment". 😂😂😂 And that's why I'm subscribed here. p.s. Hannah absolutely nailed that narration opener, much less missed her true calling...!

Anyway, the guy who he dictated to (the ghostwriter, co-author, whatever you want to call him) said that occasionally Simpson slipped up in his words as he was intently describing various parts of the "hypothetical" scenario, and would say things like "then I went over" instead of "then I would've gone over", etc.
