i built an registration and login system using ReactJS by utilizing your previous spring security tutorial and this one together. i'm just stuck in one part where after user logs in to the system i want to display username, and the user role(User or Admin) but it is undefined in the UI. could you please suggest me some tips to overcome this error?

Hello @Afsal , while working the code i think i found a bud in the code, we are able to call the api , by two auth mechanism 1 - Bearer token which you explained , but we are also able to login by 2 - Basic Auth and access the admin or user api , do let us know is this expected behavior Thank you .

Sir one question here, so every time we actually pass the token as part of the request header. And it goes inside doFilterChain() method but why it is hitting the database every time to get the user details. It hits the loadUserByUsername() and the request goes to the database. Is it the expected scenario that every time it is hitting the database with every request. Please help me I have been struggling to understand this for a long time.

i think it's Symmetric Cryptography my knowledge: A single secret key is used for both creating and validating the token. Both the issuer and the verifier need to have access to this key. my question how verifier will get this secret key? like i will send him personally or it will store in cloud .so he/she can access it , or i will send in mail,teams....

Assuming backend just accept request that contain token. How can handle returned token from backend to use in all request of frontend(javaFX) that send to backend? My problem is handling token in frontend.

You can pass the JWT with every request with "Authorization" header. First, do the login and get JWT. Then for all subsequent requests, pass the obtained JWT via the request headers.

50:48 UsernamePasswordAuthenticationFilter is actually for form-based login (This one kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b7BdlZmA0bbdYmg.htmlsi=_HI2Z6AbMDh2-SgL&t=282) and is provided automatically by the Spring boot. The UsernamePasswordAuthenticationFilter and JwtAuthenticationFilter both handle authentication but in different ways. To function correctly, the JwtAuthenticationFilter should be called first. The JwtAuthenticationFilter intercepts the request, checks for the presence of a JWT token, validates it, and sets up the security context. If the token is valid, the request proceeds with the authenticated context. If the token is not valid or absent, the request will then be processed by the default authentication mechanisms, such as the UsernamePasswordAuthenticationFilter. When the UsernamePasswordAuthenticationFilter is called before the JwtAuthenticationFilter, any request that doesn't have the proper username and password will be immediately rejected with an unauthorized status without giving the JwtAuthenticationFilter a chance to authenticate the user based on a JWT token. Therefore, the JwtAuthenticationFilter must be called before the UsernamePasswordAuthenticationFilter.

Hi, there is no special connection required from the postman. Postman can automatically send requests to the app via ip:port address. You just have to make sure that the app is started and the localhost:8080 is loading on the browser. If the browser is loading in that address, then the postman can connect to it too.
