Life Struggles of #KelapanAsan
#KelapanAsan of #Vadakumpuram near #Chendamangalam and #Paliyam in #VadakanParavur was a follower of #Narayanaguru and #SahodaranAyyappan. He was an educational and cultural reformer and leader of the people who fought against #casteHindu or #Savarna #hegemony. He also resisted the caste and gender aggression and #atrocities by the henchmen of #Paliyam who molested and abused #Avarna #Ezhavar women in public in 1920s called the #KaripayiKadavu incident when #KochukuttaKartha and Paliyam #Pillais forcefully removed the clothes of young women who came to the rationahop near #PaliyamKadavu or boat quay. #Guru visited Asan in 1918 and 1920s. The first #Kadhaprasangam was done by guru’s disciple Swamy #Satyadevan here in #Vadakumpuram#EzhavodayaSangham founded by KelapanAsan in early 20th century under the aegis of the guru.
