আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটে সুপার সাব নিয়ম প্রথম চালু হয়েছিল সেই ২০০৫ এ। ম্যাচে অলরাউন্ডারের ব্যবহার বাড়াতেই এটি চালু করা হয়। পরবর্তীতে নিয়মটি বেশীদিন টেকেনি। কারন, সুপার সাবে দলগুলো অলরাউন্ডারের বদলে স্পেশালিস্ট প্লেয়ারই বেশি ব্যবহার করতো। এরপর ২০২০ এ অস্ট্রেলিয়ার বিগ ব্যাশে চালু হয় একই ধাঁচের এক্স-ফ্যাক্টর নিয়ম। আর এখন আইপিএলের ‘ইমপ্যাক্ট প্লেয়ার’। সুপার সাব থেকে এক্স-ফ্যাক্টর, সেখান থেকে ইমপ্যাক্ট প্লেয়ার; সময়ের সঙ্গে নাম বদলালেও কাজ কিন্তু অনেকটা একই। ম্যাচে প্রভাব ফেলতে বদলি খেলোয়াড় হিসেবে মাঠে নামবেন এই প্লেয়ার। চলুন জেনে নেয়া যাক, কীভাবে কাজ করবে আইপিএলের নতুন এই আকর্ষণ “ইমপ্যাক্ট প্লেয়ার’?
