It might be because some names are mispronounced in English. For example, Jackson Wang introduces himself Waeng in English but in Mandarin and Korean, it's Wahng, and in Cantonese Wong. I personally find it annoying that we have to mispronounce our own names because foreigners can't pronounce our names right 🙄
