Probably one of the most underrated vocalists of our time. Amazing tone clarity and control and that slow vibrato is extremely rare.

Yes. As I listened to this video, it hit me how rare of a voice she has, given how low her voice is for a female. The low end is just mesmerizing.

KD Lang IMO is probably one of the top 3 singers/vocalists alive right now. Too underated to be honest. This woman was born to sing and sing alone. Altough her version from Live By Request is way better.

KZfaq is a mysterious place...! When my disability gets particularly painfilled, I spend days at the laptop bouncing from wonderland to wonderland. That's how I wound up on this channel today. I had heard KD Lang sing some years ago and loved her voice. One of my favorite singers is a beautiful young lady named Loren Allred. She sang Never Enough in the musical movie The Greatest Showman. She's fighting for recognition one day at a time. But if you love the goosebumps that KD gives you, look at Loren's video with David Foster for the PBS TV special. Trust me you'll view it more than once...

You should hear her live. I stood at the front of the stage and every one of us was weeping. She is in a class of her own. A masterclass. So proud as a Canadian that she is a gift to the world.

I have been playing and singing in bands since I was a wee lad in the 60's. I can tell you that K.D. Lang is the best vocalist singing today. Pitch and tonal control are unmatched, she is what I would call a song stylist as one listen's not to hear a song but to hear her interpertation of that song. She can sing any style, could have sung with Sinatra, Luke Kelly, Hank Williams, or even today with David Draimen. She is simply Brilliant !!!

I've always loved this song, both as a duet with Roy Orbison and sung solo by herself. Her voice is VERY torchy, and when she sings it's so clear and strong! I discovered her music in 1992 with Constant Craving, but soon discovered that she started out in Country & Western so I bought her previous albums from the 80's, and even though I wasn't into C&W music, because of her voice and her delivery on those songs, I was hooked no matter what genre she later headed with her future albums. She is one of my favorite true vocalists!!! You should react to "So In Love" and "Barefoot"

Great reaction, I am glad you enjoy kd lang's work so much. I hope you will react to more of her work in the future and if so I would like to make a few suggestions. If you want to see a young kd lang with raw energy try a performance of "Johnny get angry". For a more emotionally mature kd lang check out anything from her album "49th parallel". She also did an album "Wonderful world" which is a series of duets with Tony Bennett and they sound great together. On the subject of Tony Bennett you can see him on you tube singing "New York state of mind" with Billy Joel in a performance that is just awesome.

I would love to hear you react to something off her "Drag" album -- I think you'll be blown away especially by "The Air that I Breathe," which is another classic beauty that she renders even more powerful. And if you want to hear more of her hayseed country sound, treat yourself to her "Absolute Torch and Twang" album.

What a delight you are Kasian. Liked and Subscribed! I may be wrong, but the video ended rather quickly and I wondered if this performance had struck a particular chord emotionally? I had the chance one to see her live and there were two or three songs, including this one, that left people so gobsmacked that there was a second or two of complete silence after her last note before the place exploded with applause, some tears and a standing ovation. Indeed one of my favourite and most memorable concerts.
