People started to dislike sera not because of KDA or the song but because of her character in-game being really similar to another one. Also they say her character doesn't fit in the League universe because unlike other characters her in-game design is also being a popstar too.

Not gonna lie, Riot Games has seriously some of the best producers, writers and animators I have ever seen. It is TIGHT.

Setting aside the game and skin controversy, I actually just feel like we're listening to the song and imagining the video with Seraphine, with her vibing out in her bedroom, ad-libbing, and her ascension into the final chorus. Which I'm completely fine with!

With regards to people not liking Seraphine, it's because a lot of the community was disappointed by her in-game release. She was extremely hyped up by Riot and everyone was looking forward to what she will be like after release. Either people didn't like her skills because she is too similar to another champion, or they didn't like her theme overall. So TLDR; League players are disappointed in Seraphine, so their anger gets tossed over to the music video. In other news... This song totally gonna hit the top of my playlist

People are not liking Seraphine anymore is due to: 1. Lore of the champion in League of Legends (does not have anything to do with K/DA's alternative universe); tho I have to admit her lore in the canon universe is kinda fucked up haha; 2. Her K/DA skin in the game is an Ultimate (it is the most expensive tier of skins in the game, costing 3250 RP (other K/DA skins are 1350 RP; sorry I don't know the price in USD, I'm from another region); and people are complaining because for a release skin to be an Ultimate, aside from being very ambitious of Riot Games for doing that, is not something we (in the LoL community) are used to see (we normally see ultimate skins being given to champions that are known and loved by the community, so it was weird seeing a new champion getting something so special like this.

The Seraphine problem is a mess from beginning to end... I'm gonna start with her "canon" persona in the Runaterra Universe (the prime universe, not kda)... There's a city powered by technology with an steampunk aesthetic and world building called Pitlover, Pitlover is like an utopia, people that live there are priviledge and are very vocal about their progress as a society... But as any one of this world's there is the "dark side" or Zaun, low class people that lives within the awful contamination Pitlover generates with their technology, they make constants riots to be freed from this mistreat and oppression. The thing about Sera is that her parents are from Zaun and sold EVERYTHING to give her daughter a better life in Pitlover. Sera was an average happy girl, but she could listen to people's souls, to the point that the noises in her head were so loud and messy she would cover her ears and cry waiting for it to stop... Her parents bought her a really expensive therapy headphone that would cease the noise. The headphone was powered by a Hextech crystal. This is where the problem begins; to power the city pitloverians found an ancient species called "Brackern" that had their crystals in their bodies, this crystals have the brackrens lifes and memories. When a Brackern dies the crystal is inherited by another one and the chain continues. The pitloverians killed almost every brackrens and slaved the souls inside the crystals to power their technology. Except for the politicians, elite police and scientist, no one knows about this. But Seraphine heard something in her ear and the Brackern in the crystal talked to her and told her everything... And she did fucking nothing, she decided to use the power of the Brackern to sing to the souls of everyone and made them get along and be happen, to help people in distress with her singing... But never did once speak about how Pitlover evolved trough slavery and genocide. To hold a secret that important and have a really happy persona, it doesn't sit with lol players. Her canon lore also is like 5 paragraph longs, she has no impact in the lore. You can erase her and nothing changes, if she was moved by the Brackern's suffering and decided to sing to bring justice that'll be a different story but it didn't happen. Also her design in Runaterra is the same like her KDA indie stage, that didn't even try... It's like cutting and pasting Hanna Montana in a dystopia, it just doesn't fit... I believe that the “problem” with Seraphine is that the league of legends community found her quite disappointing as a champion, the developers spent more time fitting her in the KDA dimension then on the actual league of legends lore. The other problem is that ability wise she is way too similar to Sona that is another champion.

As I'm South Korean, still in hype feeling that k-pop theme music gets highly getting attention around the world. But some of the people might saw, South Korean people don't like Seraphine's interfering with this music. K/DA was proposed as a K-pop theme artificial girl band, and we happily accepted this band as one of the k-pop music industry. But Seraphine suddenly pops up as Chinese, making Chinese lines in Korean server only in LOL game, and Seraphine champion itself criticized as rip-off character of original LOL character, Sona. And in real life, the Chinese are trying to robbing Korean culture for decades(for example, the Netflix drama 'Kingdom' was getting popular, china trying to put Korean traditional cloth & hat into their Chinese drama/movie and now claiming it as their own culture). Plus, as well known as BTS with Van Fleet Award speech incident(kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qL2AasKmp92yqGQ.html), China claiming their invasion of Korea in the Korean war, 1950/6/25, as a glorious battle to drive out USA & Korean(?). Sum of all these incidents, we hate Seraphine & Chinese interference to K/DA. Still, all dance choreography and the song itself were excellent, the Riot staffs give full efforts to make this song great. A lot of other reactors have said things as to why Sera is awkward. She is much younger than the other members, she is supposed to be a fan that grew to be apart of the group, so she idolized them. This can be seen in all her shots in the vid. She went from a girl in her bedroom listening to KDA to then joining them. In all the shots she is in, all the og KDA members look mature and frankly hot. Whereas she is contrasted by looking innocent and cute. Plus, there is the whole Chinese difference, but thats really isn't too jarring. I think it'll just take some getting used to.

As someone who wants to love seraphine but can´t I will explain it too you. Seraphine is a great KDA member and her Twitter is awesome, but League of Legends is about characters of Runterra after all, but here is the problem. Seraphines lore is really bad made, it contradicts existing lore and feels really forced, so many come to the conclusion that Seraphine was made with the intention in mind to be a new KDA member, but they forgot that she has to be implemented in the Lore of Runeterra as well. That´s why I just can´t really love her, also the fact that she gets an Ultimate skin, which is the most expensive class of skins that only champs where getting that existed for long in the game just feels like they want to make cash with her. It´s something that people don´t really like. I wish she would have get a normal kda skin like the other members and also have a good lore, because Design wise I love her, but everything else is so off sadly

One of the reasons i saw why people didn't want Seraphine to be in the KDA song, at least as she is, was because KDA is supposed to be, apparently from the start, a K-Pop group, and the idea of a Chinese girl, taking front and center of the group singing in Chinese, instead of keeping the Korean vibes and flow disrupts the K-pop vibe they were going with? People hate Seraphine because of 2 reasons. 1: in game she is a copy of another champion "Sona" which also bases on music spells and even most of the toolkit is basically the same but with a slight upgrade. The second one is League of Legends Lore. The lore is very big and wide. The magical crystal that gives Seraphine her music skill is basically the soul of one of the species called Brackern that live peacefully in the desert of Shurima. One of the brackern is Skarner, a league of legends playable character that tries to defend his species. She is portrayed as positive character but the community knows she's the villain because of that.

I love Seraphine! The hate on her is way overblown. Like why? Yone have zed,yasuo and eko skill in his kit and no one hating him as hard as Sera. Lore wise maybe a bit sketchy, but I'm positive more than 50% of the high skill players don't even know the lores of their mains. Of course, the Koreans had to make this political. I'm not even Chinese but you can't hate a character or her singer just because she sang Mandarin? Like what type of logic is that? This song shouldn't be entirely catered to Korean audiences anyways given that Riot was planning on having the opening ceremony in Shanghai China and not Korea. I like how Riot isn't giving into these bigoted fools, (Not all Koreans just the ones complaining about the singer and Mandarin making it over political) good to see that Riot is catering towards international communities, would love to have other languages be featured in their future songs and not just Korean, Mandarin, and English.

Since K/DA is a pop group I totally expect them to have collabs and seraphine's (lexie's) contribution through out the song fit so well with everyone elses. I as a K/DA and (G)I-DLE fan having another singer was such a great addition and with K/DA members singers always changing I'm having trouble finding reasons for the dislike of seraphine being in the song.

Of course it has the reputation of League of Legends behind it, but when you have a song that in and of itself is absolutely amazing, it don't matter who releases it cuz I'll tell you something, you can give that song to anybody and it's still would be absolute fire.

There're some reasons different people are not liking seraphine, some of them just doesn't like that she is basically made for KDA unlike the others that were made for lol and then went to KDA. Others are not liking her because they think she doesn't fit in KDA (but she's just a guest and in the lore she's a fan of KDA, so I don't see any problem). And the Koreans are having some conflicts with Seraphine because she's chinese, and they say China is trying to appropriate Korean culture (and there are some deep things around it that I don't know exactly).

Seraphine was released with the sole reason to milk money out of a valuable skin type to push KDA out again, she gained more attention from Riot in their effort to make a Twitter account with a personality than her lore in the game itself, to a point where people are wondering why even go through the effort to make a new champion if they weren't going to give her the attention she needed to fit in the universe that the game is centered around, while KDA is a fun side thing they did.
