I'm here in Korea now. I'm a black woman. I think I'm being treated great by many koreans. Even the older ones have been nice, smiling, and complimenting me. I haven't run into anyone so far that has made me feel out of place. So far I love it here ❤❤❤❤

I agree. Many times ppl get into their own heads, but most of us take a ‘double take’… (quickly look twice), when we admire beauty. ♥️♥️

I recently watched a vlog that mentioned that it has only been about 35 years since Korea lifted it's travel restrictions to allow anyone wanting to travel outside of Korea to do so. It put alot of questions into perspective when I heard this as I often wondered why the outside world knows so little about Korea and Koreans know so little about the outside world. As for the language, I do have to say that it is probably one of the most difficult languages to learn as there are three different level (formal, informal and casual) to it. Depending on who you are talking to determines which level you use. In western culture, we consider it rude to ask someone their age, especially a woman. However in Korean culture and language it is important to know the age as it determines which level of the language you will address the individual. As for racism, unfortunately, I think that exists in every country. I think that for Korea, it is something more talked about because in the past, there were not many foreigners and so few Koreans travelled outside of Korea. Interracial relationships/marriages are common in western countries. However, this doesn't mean there isn't racism but I think it makes it much more difficult to determine a person's race because it is so common. I enjoy topic like this as it allows and gives us a better understanding of others culture and perspective.

I've never been to South Korea but I met some South Koreans on an English course I took in California USA. I found them super polite, delicate. A couple who found out that I was Brazilian told me that they had been to Brazil and loved my country. A day later, they both appeared dressed in shirts with inscriptions about Brazil, like t-shirts that are sold to tourists. I thought the tribute was beautiful🥰

I'm Asian, and the Brazilians I came across in California were racist toward me and other Asians. I was shocked by their open and aggressive attitude. I think it is because in Brazil, bullying toward Asians is common and even televised. Do you know what Raul Gil did on television? This is not about you. This is about the cultural acceptance of racism in Brazil. Not everyone is like that, but when the culture is allowing this on Television, it allows individuals to copy that behavior.

And Ardho LOL what did you eat our sweet baby.

I love your chemistry! 💕 these Q&As with Jungu are always the best cause they show both your personalities & perspectives. 😂. Love watching you guys! Content idea: would you mind sharing with us hacks to save money while living in Korea?. Maybe membership cards or best times to grocery shop, best places to buy this & that etc. Also I’d I know this is completely unrelated but I’m curious about what it’s like in the Korean military service. Would Jungu be interested in sharing? & how’re you Korean classes going? I’ve been learning for almost 2 years now. Can’t say I’m fluent but you seem to speak is soo fluently, I was wondering from where & how you study if you don’t mind sharing 💕

Aisha, people state at you because not only are you beautiful but also you are a model (taller stature/ model figure women such as yourself will naturally make heads turn everywhere they go). I am a woman myself and when I see a tall woman, I definitely do a double take and if she's beautiful, I will look at her more than once (admiring her beauty).

I read the reason is because South Korea women do not want to lose their freedom. Single parenting is frowned upon and when they get married they lose themselves because of the role expected of wives in South Korea.

Maternity leave I America is six to eight weeks for Mom, Dad more than likely has no leave. Of course, if he has vacation or sick leave he can use that to be at home. Am shock as to why the government doesn’t count the 947+ children left at the baby box are not counted😔😢 The big stigma of single and unwed parents giving birth. The parents and child pay a big price. The child gets ridicule for not having a father in its life.

I loved the honesty in the video but on babies in korea i tend to feel there more materialistic and that mindset sort of stops someone from thinking of something else cause they feel they wont be able to enjoy themselves once they have kids but its sort of sad cause a race could die out. But this doesnt apply to all seeing everyone is different and lots of love ❤❤ from Zambia 🇿🇲 in Africa wish you and your family happiness

If real life in Korea is like anything like the dramas, then I think the corporate workplace culture has impacted a lot on women’s life decisions. I get the impression from the dramas that women are made to feel they cannot work and have a family at the same time. They should choose one or the other. Is that true in the real world?

As someone who lives in America (born in Jamaica), from my observation the main reason has to do with society/culture. Here people don't typically have as much pressure to be married and have children. More children are born outside of marriage than within. Also, Koreans are big on taking care of the elderly once you marry into a family and even living together in one house. Women have to take on too many things once they marry and then the often don't receive the respect of benefits of marriage. Also, I think a big fear is being submissive to their spouse and in-laws. In America we don't typically cater to our in-laws like Koreans, that includes all the rituals you keep. Fertility has to do a lot with age. It is shamed to have children in teenage years there, or outside of marriage. By time most women are in a position to have kids they are early or late 30s. Just my thoughts.

You guys are SO funny. I’m American and want to get married but the way men think here has gone from super traditional to non traditional. I feel like I need to move to another country just to get a loving husband. It’s really bad here as am American black woman, many of us are leaving for reasons like rent is too high, work life balance is not the best, and of racism is America. I can’t wait to travel and leave America.

Yes I’m an American Black woman though I’m married by the grace of God to a a good man, he is very rare. Most men in America are becoming more and more outrageous. They are for the most part behaving horribly but want traditional marriage with traditional women while acting very liberally themselves it’s “ass backwards” as we say. lol I don’t blame u.
