Forget supplemental oxygen and assistance, Kilian didn't have a radio or contact. Now thats approaching a challenge with certainty. Wow!!!

Meanwhile the majority of people idolise movie stars for pretending to be someone else. Human beings like Kilian achieve incredible things and most people wouldn't know who he is.

I agree that Kilian's achievements are more incredible and definitely much rarer. But to reduce the work of the best actors into "pretending to be someone else" is like saying that Kilian "hikes mountains". There's so much more to it and even Kilian would appreciate the art and business, just as anybody who's humble enough would. Although... if you were talking about the likes of the Kardashians, I'm completely on your side :)

Any other climber in his predicament would probably have died. And anyone who has studied the history of high-altitude mountaineering knows that, even with his super-human Messner-ish lung capacity and incredible physical and mental resiliency, Jornet is probably lucky to be alive given the added risks he piled on and the hypoxia he experienced.

Agree, this is definitely not something to imitate, not a realistic goal. Killian, was born in the mountains and has been exercising to a high level since he was a child. Nowadays, and quoting his doctor, he´s somekind of freak of nature, his achievements are unattainable

Has anybody watched his documentary? did he climb the Khumbu icefall without any help from the sherpas? People normally use the ladder structure set by the sherpas to cross the crevasses, and it´s so crowded, I´d like to see how he managed to avoid the traffic jam

Neither his GPS nor his watch has the altitude proof and he never showed the flags or anything from the summit. He's an athlete, he just didn't summit Everest

None of it is on tape. No witnesses, no photos, no video, and his GPS watch supposedly went out before he got to the top. Not to mention on his first "summit" he did not go all the way down to main base camp before doing his second summit. Well if that's the case, you didn't summit twice dumbass. It's also been widely concluded in the Everest mountaineering community, that he did NOT, summit even once. And that he lied.
