Most of the damage on the (frontal) glacis comes from GIs practicing with Bazookas on the already abandoned tank. There is a video somewhere on KZfaq where you actually see them doing so. @@Toxofox Most of the hits on the front armor are not from bazookas. Bazookas have a hollow charge. "Königstiger" is an informal nickname. The official designation of the tank was Pzkfw VI ausf B "Tiger II". It was undoubtedly a beast, but unfortunately for the Wehrmacht it was also too much sophisticated, too heavy for most of contemporary bridges, and far too costly to produce. Its fuel consumption was huge, while the Third Reich had no more petrol reserves ! Less than 500 Tiger II were built, compared to 55000 Sherman or 75000 T-34... Moreover, allied heavy tanks equal or superior to the Tiger II, like the soviet JS-3, US M26 Pershing or british Centurion were ready to enter service in 1945-46.

This is one reason not to upset the German's they are the most nicest people on the earth generous to a fault I mean come on Oktoberfest a party for the world to rock up drink loads of beer and eat hot dogs . but piss them off beware the fury of a effective engineer in a design of armoured warfare . tread lightly

You could have 7 late Pz4 Ausf.H, 4.5 Panther Ausf.G or 3 Tiger Ausf.E for the price of 1 Tiger 2. Definitely the most fancy looking and the most useless tank of WW2. Not that it would save Germany, they could never win the war.
