one thing I personally really like about The Weeknd is, he just does his own thing. a lot of people are experimenting with 00s sounds right now, but he's out here just doing...his own sound. it's not exactly an 80s throwback, or an 80s homage - it's not an imitation, you know? he makes it his. and it's great on the ears. also, y'all's dancing is mad cute, i hope you know that (and i don't think he'd be mad you're grooving to such a sad song, the discordance/contrast between the lyrics and the beat is probably on purpose)

I swear when I listen to him, I always think of Michael Jackson, such an 80’s song. Him and Michael would be so amazing together, I’d listen to their songs/albums. I wish he was still here, RIP. Also, there’s a video of behind the scenes of him running and how it looks making the video, it’s pretty cool.
