Jungkook is the youngest member of BTS. Kpop isn't necessarily a genre, it's an industry. This is how Suga of BTS defined kpop when asked in an interview if he considered kpop a genre "K-pop includes not just the music, but the clothes, the makeup, the choreography…all these elements I think sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package, that I think sets it apart from other music or maybe other genres so again, as I said, rather than approach K-pop as it’s own genre I think approaching it as this integration of different content would be better.” This song is fully English (actually Jungkook's entire album called "Golden" is fully English). There has been some discussion on whether this song is kpop at all. The only reason people associate it with kpop is because Jungkook is Korean. If this same song was done by an English speaking western artist, it wouldn't be put under the kpop umbrella.

Jungkook's entire first solo album is in English. The only thing remotely "kpop" about it is the ethnicity of the artist. As soon as BTS started making a splash in the Western music markets, they were very quick to create "Kpop" categories. Their reasoning is that it allows more artists to be recognized and awarded... in truth , it's just one more way for the music industry to keep the "other" out of the main categories.

Jungkook is incredibly gifted. He is born performer and shines on stage. His vocals are insane and so stable while doing choreo.

Quick note Kpop is more of a industry like Hollywood than a music genre unless you consider rap, r&b, heavy metal, country, edm, disco, rock....are all USApop genre.

K pop is best described as Korean music Industry instead of a genre. It has different genres in it. The choreo WAS an homage to Jackson very obviously. Jungkook also has Seven and 3d, songs that you could check out from his album Golden. A remix of Standing next to you ft. Usher. He is a member of BTS and you will soon discover, along with making great music as BTS, each member has got a distinct style of music that goes way beyond kpop as well.

All 7 members areh solo artists in their own right but they choose to be BTS and see solo work as artist development. They'll use whatever genre of music they want and combine whatever genre's of music as they see fit. They have complete creative freedom which is not the norm within the Kpop Industry.

He's been doing this since 13th June 2013 when BTS debuted. They are serving the military service at the moment Jin back in couple of days, the J Hope in october then Jungkook, RM, Jimin, V and Suga(aka Agust D) will be back June 2026.

They're seven unique guys with very different personalities and different tastes in music, 7 stars who come together and perform beautifully as one. They've been together for over 11 years. Thanks for reacting to JKs song! One thing I'd like to mention is that BTS as a group or solo projects are NOT your typical K pop band. BTS is different on so may levels. I believe you will find this out eventually but you keep saying things like "Oh I see, K pop is like this and this" and I'm not sure you can generalize BTS with other K pop groups.. For me, other K pop groups just don't resonate with me the same as BTS. I believe that labels just don't apply with BTS. They are the best singers, rappers, dancers, song writers, producers and just so much more! Every single member of BTS could have solo successful music careers and together there is just no stopping them! This is just my opinion and I mean no disrespect to K pop bands that aren't BTS lol. 71 year old BTS Army here. This is another All American produced and written mega hit by Jung Kook. He once stated he wants to be a "giant pop star" and of course that means hiring the mega hit makers in the USA. Not all of the BTS members felt the same as to the style of music and type of promotion for their solo works pre-military enlistment. Each one chose what was right for them and each was amazing and hugely successful which makes it difficult if not impossible to pick a favorite. You're absolutely right about the MJ influence. To me it reminds me a lot of Off the Wall, his 1979 album produced by Quincy Jones (the sound is very much Quincy's style.) The producers for this track are Cirkut, who worked a lot with The Weekend (definitely an MJ influenced singer) and Watt, who worked with Post Malone (another MJ inspired performer.) You should also check out the remix with Usher (another disciple of MJ) - the mv is just great (and it freaked JK and all the dancers in the video - all top choreographers and dancers themselves - to be dancing with Usher.

The vocalists of BTS are no joke. Jungkook is the lead vocalist of the group, although they have 4 vocalists that can all sing amazingly well. For their solo music, Jungkook aka JK, loves American kind of pop and he did lots of collabs with American artists on his solo album Golden. V aka Kim Taehyung has a more old school R&B vibe and loves the classics. He is the natural baritone of the group but has a large vocal range so he can hit the high notes too. I would recommend his solo songs Fri(end)s and Love Me Again. His solo album is called Layover. The guys are also friends with Coldplay and did a song called My Universe with them, so Jin did his solo song called The Astronaut that Chris Martin worked with him on. Jimin did a song on one of the Fast & Furious soundtracks. Looking forward to all the reactions!

This was intended to be an homage to Michael Jackson and a nod to Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet. Where BTS is concerned, the K-pop label only applies insomuch as they are from Korea! Their discography spans hundreds of songs and just about any genre you can think of! Do yourself a favor and check out their live performances. This group is rare in that their live performances are even better than their MVs! The channel "Enjoy BTS More" has many songs with English subtitles. Jungkook solo album is not really kpop since only korean "thing" on this album is Jungkook himself.

Kpop isn't a genre, it is just an industry. BTS is at the pinnacle of achievment of all the Korean groups. Between BTS as a group and the guys solo releases they have released around 400 songs covering various genres. Jungkook is a fan of MJ and this song was an homage to MJ. In the past year he and the other guys released personal albums as the group was broken up, temporarily, because of mandatory military service. In fact Jin who joined the army first was released yesterday. The group will all be back together in june 2025. Not knowing what you listened to before I would recommend On Kinetic Manifesto. Black Swan. Mic Drop Steve Aoki remix. Blood Sweat and Tears. Crystal Snow. And in honour of Jin's return watch The Astronaut. If you are into rap then I would recommend a whole other list. Good luck, you have opened the door to some fantastic music.

Well...technically it is still BTS since he is the youngest member and main vocalist of BTS, haha. It's also not really K-pop since it's completely in English and written by American writers and producers. Just performed by a Korean artist. Although, the whole album is golden! (pun intended) and JK hand-picked the songs that resonated with him. GOLDEN is a really really good pop album 💜

There are many different genre's within K-Pop.* Even though Jungkook is a KPOP IDOL, the song is in English, the producers and songwriters were from the USA, and the genre is pop and r&b. So this isn't your typical K-Pop song. JK wanted to do Pop music and challenge himself by working with Western producers and songwriters. His whole album is like that. The songs are from *American Songwriters and Producers.* The video director is Ukranian. So none of it is made by Korean industry, other than Jungkook himself.
