Terry's Acura RSX Type-S getting retuned at iShorty-Tech.
He's now back with a new setup (Reverse K-Frank). Unfortunately, his K24 Turbo blew (bent rod) last time on dyno, vid link below.

@@alitoroganan2442 on the old setup was a log manifold. I believe too much boost come on too early.

Weird question but why did he swap to a ep3 motor? lower compression for boost or just readily available? Usually ppl are throwing those things out so im just curious

I'm unsure exactly his reasoning was, but he went to the junkyard and pulled the Base RSX motor to do this build. I'm sure he has other K24 blocks sitting around, maybe he will chime in and tell you the reasoning.

k24's have weaker sleeve than k20's so it's the best choice for a boosted application. Now why he went with a k20a3..Pretty sure it was cheaper/ readily available cause k20a3 have slightly smaller water passages, no oil squirters compared to a k20a/a2/z3 and yes they also have lower compression ratio.. which can be good in high boost setup (20+psi) tho. As for the head, it completely make sense to use his k24a2 head (vtec on intake and exhaust side) since it flow more CFM than a k20a3 head. Hope that help :)

Yep benjbsn pretty much got all the points to why I chose the a3. Lower compression, readily available, thicker sleeves, but most importantly it makes less torque than a k24. Torque is what kills these stock rods and I bent plenty on my other turbo setup 😅. Plus it has a type-s oil pump already installed. I chose the k24 head cause I had a few lying around. Once again benjbsn is right k24a2 head cause VTEC on both intake & exhaust and for CFM. Also I believe the water passages are the same size.

@@Awesomeidiot69Totally agree, stock rods don't really like ""aggressive"" low rpm torque delivery🤣I know the water passage are different but maybe i'm wrong about the difference in size ..can someone chime in?Anyway awesome build it must be a blast to drive! How is the lag with that turbo size (since its pretty big lol.. you got a lot of room, those are good for 600whp.. My previous setup (pte-5858cea on a a B18c)built boost at around 4.5k rpms
