glad I got mine in perfect condition with bakelite grips and the leather frog none of these have one. but it was forty years ago.

Do you ever get any matching bayonets? The code/maker and date on the scabbard should match the code/maker and date on the blade. The value in a bayonet is that it is matching, not sharpened, and it has a decent amount of finish left.

Ive just aquired one and was surprised to find the edge not sharpened...i guess that didnt happen in the factory?

ganggreen santiago They should not be sharpened. Numbers/maker should match as well. If a K98 bayonet does not fit these parameters than the value takes a big hit.

So my grandpa gave me an old bayonet like 5 years ago and it’s been in my closet since. I just guessed it was some Spanish bayonet I did research and I was surprised it was an ww2 kar 98 bayonet

I have a kar98 bayonet. It's in not so good condition. The blade is banged up. Wood heavily aged. Metal on the handle has some rust and is also banged up and aged. No sheath. My great grandad made a wooden sheath for it. I'm terrified to get it restored.

Is it a good idea to clean the patina off or leave it on?

always leave original markings on it, but if you restore something thats all rusted and shit than thats ok to do

This just came out today and they're already out of stock. I would love to buy something from you guys but everything is out of stock the moment I see the video.
