This year in May I had visited Kashmir and unfortunately I have experienced the same behavioural issues in all respect.

क्या जरूरत है कश्मीर घूमने की हिमाचल है, उत्तराखंड है ,पूर्वोत्तर के खूबसूरत स्थल है ।इनके पास सीमापार से बहुत पैसा आ जाता है उसी से जीये मौज लें ।कुछ सालो ऐसा करके तो देखो इनकी सारी अकङ निकल जायेगी ।

recently I went for amarnath yatra with my mom ,wife n sister in July 2022. I had the same experience with the local kashmiri taxi operators, shikara wala, horse owner. Vendors selling swals. The one simple agenda is to misguide and extrot extra money for every little thing. To save yourself you have to crosscheck your plan with relaible people, army personals are very helpful. Also you must bargain to save your money.

similar happened with me. i visited srinagar few days back. taxi driver charged 5000 to visit gulmarg which is only 60 km from srinagar. then he convinced me to take horse ride which is also already planned with horse man then he told me to take 6 points but showed only 3 points. and always asking for extra money even after giving 3000 for horse ride. then the driver stopped at his fixed clothe shops and convinced us to buy something. there is all criminal nexus going on these days

Strict action should be taken against such auto drivers.

Just visited kashmir a week back... Most of the locals are very welcoming and good in hospitality... However the taxi wala and rickshaw wala were the worst experience and worst memory of kashmir trip... Hope government would take necessary action against these peoples to preserve the tourism of J&K...

Great keep bringing lacks we still facing so that we can identify existing problems and can work on future. 👍. We are working already on Kashmir, but it will take time of around 10 years to fully secure even in mentality of local people. 🙏🇮🇳

मेरे दोस्तो का भी कश्मीर का 10 साल पहले का अनुभव भी बहुत खराब रहा, शिकारे वाले ने उनके साथ चीट किया, और लोगो ने बहुत गलत बर्ताव किया।

यही तो problem है,कश्मीर के लोग दूसरे प्रदेश से आने वालों को ऐसे ठगते है,की पूछो मत । जब ये हमारे प्रदेशो में business करने आते है तो हम इनकी कितनी मदद करते है । ऐसे लोगो को शर्म आनी चाहिए, tourism की वजह से इनका पेट पल रहा है ।

Avoid visiting Kashmir , Let them realise the value of tourists and tourism. Visit other beautiful places of India where people are cordial and hospitable.

Thanks for this video. I went to Kashmir last week and the first attraction is “Greed”, second is “Tourist scams” and last is beauty of nature. Forced tipping is so rampant, it looks like looting without gun is going on. There is no value of 100 rupees in Kashmir, its like 50 paise in rest of india. Now, i am never going back to Kashmir and will advise people to go to Himachal or Sikkim.

I visited Kashmir in October 2021. The place and local people are heart warming. But, a whole lot of scam is operated in the name of tourism. There are tourist info booths/police but never available. It's an entire network considering of all vehicle operators. Auto operators are no different anywhere. Fortunately we met a very decent auto driver who helped us a lot. Be it Srinagar, Sonamarg, Pahalgam everywhere it's the same story, monopoly. A tourist must be very thorough and well informed before visiting there.

पिछले साल मैंने भी फेस किया था सोनामार्ग मै अपने wife के साथ वो लोग मनमाना पैसा ले रहे थे और कुछ पूछने पर सब एक साथ इकट्ठा हो जाते थे हमे घेर के खड़े हो जाते थे और कश्मीरी भाषा मै कुछ कह कर हँसते थे मुझे तो डर लगता था कभी कभी क्योंकि मै अपनी बीबी के साथ था ऐसा लगता था जैसे हम लोग पाकिस्तान में है। ईसी डर के वजह से हम अपना टूर पैकेज छोड़ के अगले ही दिन वापस आ गए।

Action should ba taken... But i have a question brother. Agar apko railway station he jana tha to srinagar say budgam railways jana mie samja nai jab ki app srinagar railway ja sakte thay. Jaisa ki baid mie kiya. Phr budgam railway kyun???

Thank you for sharing your experience. Last week we went to Kashmir. Pony rider people cheated us. We told them to drop Baisaran valley but instead of Baisaran valley he dropped us in between ( stone valley),. As we saw a video of Baisaran valley we came to know that he dropped us in between. As we told him this thing, he ran away leaving us there.We were five people. My mother is above 63 years old with 6 and 8 yr children. Our whole day trip to Pahalgam was spoiled due to this. Beware of everywhere. Though Kashmir is a beautiful place instead of sweet memories you will come with bitter experiences here.

Same incident happened with us in June when I with one of my friend went to Amarnath Ji yatra by flight from Srinagar airport to Pahalgam.

Same thing happens in Bangalore , get down near navarang talkies and they start demanding 300 ,/400 for 3 or 4 km of drop . Even after 6 am they keep demanding similar fares , they don't want to come by meter so this happening in Kashmir not new . Hope things improve

I also faced same kind of issue, I visited the Kashmir in May 2022, in whole journey we paid almost triple charges for taxi in every places of Kashmir.

Send the details to DGP, GOVERNOR . Concerned authorities shd take strict action against these people. Even today some officials have same mindset of previous era. In one of the TV NEWS CHANNEL it was shown ppl middle level management of govt have same mindset they are creating hurdles for transition after abolition of 370. Govt shd take strict action against them if they do not change their mindset and working.

We have visited Srinagar in 2016 our experience was good, luckily we got a good cab driver who was decent but be careful there I spoke to CRPF they told me that don't believe them, these people will lend you in trouble, they told me to travel in day time only, avoid travelling and roaming after evening

I traveled to Srinagar in nineteen every where people were nice and had. Good experience especially the elders.but younger were aggressive. This is due to change in the change in the mindset of new generation which is dangerous for the generation to Kashmir .hope they must take lessons from their forfathers.

Auto drivers are same everywhere in India. In Hyderabad , In Mumbai suburbs, In Bangaluru too you will find such kind of auto drivers who are kind of rowdies.

In Jammu, these auto drivers would cost you an arm and a leg. I was on my way to college via an auto as I had an important exam and a traffic policeman stopped the auto. He asked the auto driver where was the reading meter and he then immediately unhide it from the curtains covering it. Then the traffic policeman asked me where I was heading from and what he was charging me. I gave my pick up location and said Rs. 150. He then immediately cut a chalan and said it would merely cost me Rs. 50 from there. Beware of them! They are the ones who are preventing to have Uber and Ola in J&K because they know their black business would be at high risk if it hits the roads.

We also face same problem in Sonmarg camera shop and in Gulmarg also lekin mai jab Laddakh gaya to wahan ke log bahut humble or polite hai .Sorry to say apko Ladakh people se Sikhna chahiye. Kashmiri Shopkeepers and Local Convence.

First you should check location on Google and you should find distance in kms and then you should ask fare bd settlement

Very sad to know it. At every tourist place tourists are welcome b3cause taxi wala, auto wala, hotel wala, gift shop wala everybody gets benefitted and they remain respectful to all. but I am shocked to see the bad behave in Kashmir.

I hv travel 2 times in Kashmir and they ask me to pay $10 dollar= 740INR @at that time 💰 for only 2 km.totally unfair.tourist department should tk strict action and execute norms in strict way.

This is a common thing in Kashmir. This happened to us in 1980 too when I was very small and gone with my parents. One kashmiri even admitted that 90% Kashmiris are dishonest in their trades.

The condition is same everywhere in India, especially tourist destinations. Being kashmiri Ive lived in pune for 4 yrs, there after I lived in a rented room with other guy for some months, the owner Marathi didn't even returned my security deposit, gave me lame excuses that you have broken sanitary pipes in bathroom, and every month he used to forger the electricity bill and whenever we told we'll pay by our own he will never agree. Being from middle class family and got admission there based on scholarship I've faced terrible nights there. Everywhere whether taxi guys, mess, landlords they exploited me financially plus once I visited police station in pune to complaint they will never listen to u because u are not Marathi. Bloody thugs .Even if u'll rent a room in Delhi they will tell u room has a cooler but once u enter and pay it will not be working.
